Just realised I've a bulb out and want to use the car to go swimming a little later, so it's no imperative that I use the car.
Yes, there could be. Usually a VDRS given but traffic bobby's may give you a ticket. If it's not replaced then you may continue to get tickets if you continue to drive. Nip to the garage/Asda and they should have some bulbs in.
Cheers, thought their might be. I'll leave it while tomorrow & get one from the nearby Worsbro' Motor Spares at Stairfoot.
I was going to say, if there isn't, there should be. The amount of people I see driving around Leeds with a bulb out is ridiculous!
Yep, endorsable fixed penalty notice but rarely issued. Should only issue a VDRS for two or more defects. Words of advice at most but often an "in" to have a look for other defects.
Just tell them when you left it was working, a bulb can blow any time! I noticed one of my spot lights was out on the way down on Saturday, it was working again by Sunday.
If stopped I'd just be nice to the policeman and thank him for letting you know and say that you are actually on your way to Asda for a bulb. Hopefully that saves you a ticket.
As a biker I always have my lights on. But people who drive without any lights on when it's getting dark are just absolute numpties.
What winds me up more are all the people in Bradford who drive around in thick, thick fog without any lights whatsoever on. For some reason, the two streets around where I work are covered in fog every morning between around October until March. Every morning, without fail. Our school field always has fog hanging over it and looks extremely creepy and depressing.
Some drivers also think their fog lights are actually "rain lights" If only everyone was as perfect as me
I went through most of the Summer unknowingly having a headlight out, obviously as there was little need to use them until about 9 o'clock it didn't make a massive difference although I did chance it a few times until I could be bothered to get it sorted. Luckily mine were a doddle to change so I bought some for a fiver off Amazon. Amazing to think that Halfords would have charged over £70 to supply and fit them (so I'm told).
