Barnsley ok? We had a bit of rain in Liverpool for about 10 minutes!Felt really sorry for the people affected by the storms today until that bloke came on with his derailed model trains :-/
It was a bit windier down here lots of trees down half a million properties with no power no trains running due to trees on the line etc Obviously as it affected the south it got lots of coverage on the National news - guessing had the storm been 200 miles further north the coverage might have been a bit less
my dustbin got blown nearly 1/4 of an inch and its empty !, I think I need some food parcels and aid money
He'll be in a bad mood too. The storm made him miss out on the pleasure of my company for the evening, as well as seeing Robyn Hitchcock at Milton Keynes. It's impact like that you simply can't put a price on. BTW Paul, if you're reading this it was brilliant.
Four people died and half a million homes were without power. I might not have felt anything here, but I still wouldn't trivalise it for those who were affected.
The fact it affected people in the South means it will be made into a massive story, had it affected the Northerners they would have gave it 5 minutes on the news
I'm not denying that, I still don't think it's appropriate to trivalise something that killed people.
