Unfortunatly I wasn't able to get to the match so I watched it ont tele

First impressions were that there wernt many there from Barnsley........and there wernt that many there from Ipswich either (hope mrx were there tho)
But the guys that did travel made themselves heard

Me and mi lad were howling with laughter at the presumably Ipswich fan that could clearly me heard saying "foooking *****".

Big Mick looked worried throughout the game.
Basically, again Barnsley dominated the match like they did against Wendy but only managed a draw because Ipswich had a purple patch in the first half of about 20 minutes; which is what happened against Wendys purple patch in the second half.
This leaves me with the impression that FlickaMellon haven't the skills or intelligence to make vital changes when they are required - e.g. the shape of the team.

    Nar then - player rating

Butland..........another solid display. Wish he was ours.

Kennedy.........bit better, but still needs to improve........ We need another left back

M'Voto..........getting stronger and wiser......good display from him

Crannie.........caught out of position a time or two........looks suspect..........we need another centre back

Wiseman........good display........but still this player lacks confidence especially in attack...he frightens defenders with his speed and should make more runs into the oppositions penalty area........we would gain a shed load of penalties if he did that because the only way to stop him would be to bring him down

Mellis..........another shocking display from this player........on 32 minutes the sight of him trotting back while Ipswich were attacking says it all about this player......obviously something is wrong with the Flicka / Mellis relationship.........best Mellis can hope for is to be used as cover for McCourt

    Perkins..........just excellent

Fox..........AWOL AGAIN...........we have only a limited number of loan players and he's one of them...........send him back and lets have room for another loanee

McCourt..........the only player with real invention that can make things happen..........just wish he could do the full 90 minutes

Pedersen..........not convinced that this player is any better than what we already have.........he is not linking up with COG which Scotland seems to do better..........would consider sending this player back to make room for a striker that can make a difference

Big Chris..........another 100 percent from this guy

    SUBS

    Scotland.......made a difference in attack

Etuthu..........good holding midfielder.......but imo is not a replacement for McCourt. Cywka or even Mellis (if he decides to play) would be a better replacement

Jim Jim...........showed energy in the side when he came on.............an energy that has been lacking since Dawson was dropped to the bench...........Jim had a much bigger influence on the game than Mellis in both attack and defence which begs the question why isn't Jim playing week in week out?

In conclusion.........I think we will be RELEGATED this season because we have a number of really good players but they are having to carry some freeloaders
This didn't happen last season from Christmas........all the players at the end of last season were pulling in the same direction
This season they aren't.........and as much as I like Flicka..........if Flicka cant sort it out soon then he needs to consider his position at the club

The defence is in need of at least 3 new players. We need to free up space within the loanees to get some defenders in

On the Wendy and Ipswich evidence this would be my line up.

    .......................................Butland

    Wiseman..........another......M'Voto.......another (Nyatanga?)..........another

    .............................Perkins.........Etuthu

    .......................................McCourt

    ..........................COG....................Scotland

    Subs

    O'Brien
    Dawson
    Cywka
    Rose
    Dagnal
    Digby
Cranie (cos there's no one else)
Mellis (cos there's no one else)

I think it was just over 50% full/empty.

18,000 Ipswich fans !!!...........they didn't make much noise..........but then again they haven't got much to sing about
But then again it might be that they were quiet because they are 'southern'.

So who would you replace Flitctoft/Mellon with?

Do you think Dagnall would be a better option than Pedersen?

You think we will get relegated? We have some very winnable games to come.

you think violence in football stadia is acceptable?

Flitcroft has already made it plain he hasn't a clue how to sort it out i'm getting worried that the new board are allowing him to carry on up all these blind alleys he's taking us

So Cranie no good and Perkins played well and Pedersen crap?

Quick glance at that made me realise another load of rubbish.

Pedersen needs service. Perkins and Fox did nothing to give it

I think the board will allow Flicka to get near to Christmas before considering a change

I don't think changing managers is necessarily a bad thing if it results in us being in the division next season

At the moment there are a few players that are not putting a shift in........or its the direction from Flicka that's not allowing those players to play to their potential..........Mellis is the prime example

"Why isn't Jim Jim paying week in and week out".

The answer is blindingly obvious. He tries hard runs around a lot but lacks quality. In 4 seasons a supposedly attacking player has assisted 9 goals and scored 6. A truly shocking record. This is beaten only by Perkins 2 goals and 6 assists though none of either this season. Playing those two together plus Fox means effectively we have no goal scoring or goal creating threat from midfield other than Paddy and that's not sustainable.

Its a shame abart the assists because we have missed plenty of good chances and even if a player lays one on a plate for someone who misses then he dont get credited with an assist where a misplaced cross that pinbals through bodies does if converted.

Pass completion can be great if your playing the safe ball all day without hurting the opposition. Too much misreading of stats in today`s game IMO.

That's true but after such an hard start to the season we thought games against Wednesday and Ipswich were winnable.
