A penalty wouldn't have been totally wrong, but Nouble was pulling Mvoto's shirt too...

The first foul in that sequence was shirt-pulling by Nouble. Not a penalty, and confirmed by Mick McCarthy.

Never a penalty and not many think it was. It's interesting to read some on the Ipswich Town supporters comments re: Nouble. They generally seem to have the same opinion of him was we do.

    Agree with this.

Someone needs to shake M'Voto out of this form of defence. There was shirt pulling by both, but he was at it all game and same against Wednesday.

I wouldn't have complained if the ref had given it. And let's face it, at some point he's going to give a pen away or several. He needs to learn quick until we get Nyatanga and Ramage back to fitness.

Is "stonewall" ever used to describe anything other than a penalty?

Indeed it is, but that is its correct usage as a noun not an adjective.

I thought it was something to do with homosexuality, but not entirely sure where the name comes from... http://www.stonewall.org.uk

I'd never heard of that organization before. According to one of the advertisements at the top of the page, they're recruiting. Is that for paid employment within the charity or to try your hand at a spot of loving?

Is it politically correct of me to suggest that could be one of the perks of the job? - but only if you are into that sort of thing.

It is incorrect usage of the word "stonewall" - it means defensive, it's to obstruct.

I'm surprised at you Jay if you've never heard of the LBGT charity called Stonewall.

No, hadn't heard of it before. To be fair though, not being homosexual myself, there's no reason why we should have crossed paths.

    So, racist and slightly homophobic....

I'm a rabid Daily Mail mindset nutter and I'd heard of Stonewall - mainly because I seek things out that annoy me.

NB - some or all of the above may or may not be made up.

Just in case Maxwell's on the case still.

How we used to cower in fear of a badly chosen word or phrase.

I'm an all round b'astard. Prejudice is my middle name. And to be honest, there are undoubtedly loads of other charities I haven't heard of that represent minorities. I'm probably prejudiced against people I don't even know exist.
