Well Bramah's and Silkstone are both Wetherspoons so they would be classes as 'new ****' No. 7. is a classic pub with loads of real ales. Won numerous awards for the beer thats on tap there & won best pub in yorkshire.
Yes top of the league in Conference haha I cant believe your making excuses for our poor support away . Just face the fact its poor and stop coming up with silly facts,. Should Luton in the conference realy be taking more away fans than any team in the championship no matter how bad we are doing
£23 on Saturday, I know it's only 3 quid but some peoples minds work in mysterious ways see it's £20 & they'll go, over 20 & they won't bother etc
Top of the league in the conference? you haven't looked at it have you? You picked out Luton as your one off example to prove how **** our support is, l've pointed out that when we were both in league 1 we averaged nearly 2,000 more than them and they were top of the league. What you basing our poor support on? % of our home support? size of the town? size of the club? or just comparing it to Weds or Leeds. Our away support averaged 895 last season, more than Ipswich, Millwall, Peterborough & Bristol City - up 20% on the season before. Based on percent of our home support we were the 4th best in the division. I think it's pretty decent for a small club like ourselves thats suffered on the road for the past 7/8 seasons.
In that case try the Outpost just outside of town. We're in every week and we often see away fans in there with no trouble at all.
If your team is at the top of any league, it will always take more support than the same team at the bottom of the league above. Our away support has always been phenomenal when we've been at the top of the league (Which hasn't been very often) - fans like to see a winning team. Given that historically we must have one of the worst away records in the country, I don't think we do too badly.
We have good support home and away, for example scum who by there own admission are massive brought around 3k we will take more than that to the shithole
How much would we take ? I'd take my ticket, wallet and phone. Can't think of much else useful. Maybe a brolly.
The irony of the Donny possible away following being spoken about when regularly it's made into a big thing on here when clubs like Wednesday and Leeds take piss out of our away followings. How many away fans travel to grounds doesn't mean squat. They could have one fan in the away end or bring 7k to fill half the side but still the only thing that matters on the pitch this saturday is closing the gap between how many points we have this season compared to last season after 15 games so the gap doesn't get larger.
I'd take a coat now it's got in to autumn. That ******* parka that TFP always takes the piss out of. I've had it for years and I hate it. I was hoping it would have worn out by now, but the ******* thing still looks brand new. And it's the warmest coat I've ever had. I reckon it's made out of the same stuff as super heroes have their costumes made from. It's ******* indestructible. The b'astard.
Couple of weekends ago, my Wednesday supporting cousin and his mate hit Bramahs (Wetherspoons), which is good upto about half 1, then it gets too busy. After that they went into the White Bear just up the road, which doesn't seem to get too busy. To be fair, there's plenty of half decent boozers knocking about, but Bramah's in general seems always to have a mix of home and away fans.
Brammahs has been designated an away friendly pub which given there's a battle everytime we play someone tasty is quite amusing. Groggers you did well not to die from either the beer, a shoing or trying not to slip in the foot of piss on the shitter floor. Or a combination of all three. Odwyers is ok for away fans in small numbers. As is ***** bear. Seven stinks but beers decent. Macy's only serves them gays. Chennels is cheap wi sky on but can be interesting. Corner pins alright. Blah blahs expensive. Chambers. Avoid. Unless drunken charvers off their tits is your forte
