Aaarrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm not talking about London I'm talking about Dortmund, which I've visited a few times. It's not one of the best cities in the world but you said it was a "German slum" without any facts to back that up. If you want to talk about London it's a horrible place, a complete shithole, in my opinion. I'm allowed to say that because I've visited it many many times. If I never go there again it will be far too soon. Anyway I give up, have a good evening.
Just done a little Google search and even German sites are talking of the northern city of Dortmund been a slum. Report: Is the North Dortmund city slum? DORTMUND , immigration from Romania and Bulgaria to the north city of Dortmund is on tonight on ARD. The report "Germany's new slums" shows the area from the perspective of economic refugees from Southeast Europe. Today in TV: Reports: Is the North Dortmund city slum? - Lesen Sie mehr auf: http://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/lokal...-Nordstadt-ein-Slum;art930,2098354#plx3256285
Didn't realise your German was so good Phil. In fact that article is talking about a small part of Dortmund in the north of the city that is being colonised by people from Rumania and Bulgaria. That issue is not new and is happening in most cities in western Europe, including London and even Barnsley as you well know. Less than half of the inhabitants of London are British.
Not that I've visited every city in Europe but I've been to a fair few: Barcelona - nice place but doesn't have anywhere near as many iconic buildings as other cities, felt a bit like Manchester to me - same kind of pleasant architecture but all pretty much the same. Paris - very disappointing, get outside of the main tourist areas and it's pretty grim. I don't understand it's popularity at all. London - I must admit I love the place, has it's rough areas like anywhere else but it doesn't feel as edgy as some parts of Paris and there seems to be something new and interesting every time I go. Haven't been to Venice or Rome - although I've heard Rome is tiny, friends said they couldn't believe how small it was. You're joking about that picture being Dortmund aren't you?
Don't you think English people call English city's slums? Travel to Sheffield and walk* around Pitsmoor, Firth Park, Fir Vale, Wybourne, Manor, Shiregreen, Gleadless Valley, parts of High Green and it will make you realise how bad some areas 30 mins from home actually are. *I DON'T ACTUALLY RECOMEND WALKING AROUND THE ABOVE AREAS
Thats the point i was trying to make Stahlrost. He's comparing London to Dortmund. That from the sites i've looked on's like talking prices between London and Boston or Lincoln.
You have never been to Germany have you,you should go and visit a few cities over there then come back and go to London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Leeds then come back on here and admit you were talking out of your arse
Have you been to Brixton? Or the area around Upton Park? Or around the Spurs ground? Romford? Lewisham? Frightening places in "Europe's favourite city".
Or Leeds, with Chapeltown, Gipton, Harehills, Seacroft, Osmanthorpe, Little London Or Manchester, with longsides, Moss Side and several other chunks of the city.
I think everyone gets what you are saying Phil. It's just another excuse to slag Germany again for you.
Not at all Bryn. But DeeTee compared two places that are different and all i did was say that. London with it been voted peoples top place in Europe will be expensive from Food to Football and especially at places like Arsenal who can sell their stadium twice over with the location of the club and there fan base been probably been wealthy say.
