Is woeful, according to the table posted on Owlstalk.

    http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic/203697-away-attendances-table/

But as I've pointed out to the deluded, we've yet to have an away derby, whereas they've had two and took average numbers to both.

I love how they ignore the many factors involved. Willy waving basterds.

Ah well. We took more to S6 than they brought here last season, and we'll take more than the paltry 3,000 they brought t'other week.

    Massive my arse.

In other away news, Pikeys reckon they're bringing 3,500 tomorrow. Aye, oreight.

There was a table last year of away supported but omitted Blackpool and Huddersfield. Would have automatically boosted average by a lot.

Considering home attendance we do well.

England take more away but then 65m live in it

Bolton, Derby, Weds, Donny & Hudders to come to name but a few...

Quality Owlstalk for ignoring facts, like the Sheffield Fritzl and stuff.

Also we've been in this league longer than anyone besides Ipswich and frankly I can't afford to part with £100 for away day to go a stale ground like Leicester, Derby, Boro every single season.

Be all new grounds for many of other Yorkshire clubs

I think somebody counted the number of caravans on the A635 and forgot to discount those going away for the weekend.

This one, its missing the two aways we sold out Blackpool & Huddersfield so there's 6,000 plus to add to that total figure. Would have took our average up to the 1,000 mark.

My gaffer at work is a big Pikey.

He says you'd sold close to 3,000 already with at least 500 paying on the day.

    I laughed.

500 on the day possibly but I think we've sold 1300 so far.
The lack of electricity to hook up to the caravans has put a few off (etc!)

    Yep, 1300 sold yesterday, I'd expect about 1800-2000. 11,500 - 12,000 gate probably.

You did bring a good support in your first season in Championship, but since then it's been ~1500.

We're expecting to win, as we have played quite well (in patches) over the last few games. That said, it's a Derby, Donny need to kick-start their slump, so it could be a good game.

    Let's hope so.....enjoy it.

Can't understand the allure of away games nowadays...You are royally ripped off with ticket and travel prices and treated like **** by the local constabulary.

Only bother with swillsboro...and that's cos I get complimentary tickets.

The best support was the 1st time we came (in recent years) which was in League 1 & a tuesday night I believe, I think the actual figures differ between the sets of fans but probably somewhere between 3500 & 4500. Didn't someone on here have a photo of it & claimed it was nearer the lower of the 2 numbers?

Their team is **** so they go an attendances 'cos as a big city club it's the only table they'll be near the top of.
I saw a table once that had the %age of population as the criteria for attendance and us, Burnley and Donny were top. It all means shag all, there's only one table that means anything.

I've explained that percentage theory to them on numerous occasions. They ignore it.

Chesterfield come out in top, we're second, and Donny were bottom. Donny is quite heavily populated for a town. And that's not including the travelling community. :)

Maybe if we started picking up some points away from home, that might help? Who wants to travel to see us get another hiding? You've got to need your bumps felt to follow us away.

If you average 7,000 home fans, and fetch 2,000 tomorrow, that's a decent turnout. Wednesday brought a thousand more, yet they've 20,000 home fans. Their away support is ****. As is their team. Manager. And the stadium itself. ****. Proper smelly ****.

They've got to wave their willies about though, and with all the shittiness, they're clutching at straws, this 'massive' away support myth being the latest.

Oh, and that Wickham and Fryatt are - and I quote from their forum - "the best strike partnership in the division, the best in my lifetime as an Owl".

The bloke was 40 years old. And after ONE GAME he came to that conclusion.

Deluded basterds. Can't believe we didn't smash them t'other week.
