Speaks well, open with the supporters (these pub nights are a great idea), the TVs, bringing merch in house and CRM system has been needed for years. But this 'rebrand' is terrible. Continually referring to the club as a 'brand', terrible (in my opinion) options dor the badge, corporate ******** on this new website and all in all focusing on the wrong things when we're second bottom. If either Mo or Ben refer to us as a brand again then I might turn murderous.
While I agree that the place needed brightening up and some aspects of BFC needed bringing into the 21st century, we are not a brand, never will be and never can be.
Wasn't Maurice Watkins the man behind the removal of 'football club' from their club's crest in order to disassociate the business from merely football and allow it to be known as simply a global brand?
Reyt, Dyson, I'm fully with thi on this 'brand' ********. We're not a brand, we never have and never will be. We're a Football Club. You don't support BFC because it's a brand, you support it to be part of something unique, even though it's **** most of the time. However, we need to get into the 21st century sooner or later. We've seen how far we've fallen behind in since we've been back in this league and we can't fall any further back without dropping a league. If the club want to refer to themselves as a brand to get some extra sponsors then that's alright by me, as long as it stops there. If things start affecting us, the fans, then that's where I draw the line. Alright they're going to change the badge possibly, but that's still in our hands. If no one wants a new un the old un will stay. I've voted for D because I'd like us to have a badge that isn't the same as the town's emblem, summat a bit unique to us. It incorporates the history of the town and the club into that so that's alright by me. I just think you're just focussing on that one word too much. PS, dunt forget my WSB tomorrow
I personally support the brand concept. These guys know what they're doing, commercially speaking. I just really dislike the actual designs, and don't think they respect our heritage. I'm voting no change, sadly.
If they want to call us anything then we are that Dyson. If they have spoken about it (Ben Mansford, Maurice Watkins, Patrick Cryne) then its got to be good for the BFC. Sports Brands move forward, Football clubs don't
We are a sports football club. It reminds me of the stupidity of when Vince Mcmahon started saying he owns a 'Sports Entertainment' company and banned words like 'wrestling' or 'wrestler' being used by his employers. Or how the WWE "FANS" are called the "WWE Universe". This rebrand nonsense is too American for us.
Dyson im sorry but any post that refers to people as 'ben' or 'mo' doesn't deserve a positive response - do you drink in the number 7 by any chance
We do. We are with the changes they're making I mention above. But the powers that be think talking about brands and 'Premier aspirations' is modernising when really it's all board room business speak ******** that 99% of the people they're trying to reach doesn't give a **** about.
I couldn't care less about us getting to the Premiership, I like being a Championship club. True, if we were promoted I'd be partying with the rest of them, but it's certainly not something I think or dream about.
PS the only way to generate interest from younger supporters is not treat them like **** in the corner of the Ponty & charge cheap prices for those 16-21. Not give us a new badge.
