Can someone explain what he brings to the team without saying he's good in possession (which is bollcks) or he keeps it simple which achieves bugger all???

Yeah, after a few games I've probably made my mind up now that he's poor. Looks a yard behind the game and doesn't really have any outstanding qualities or an ace card.

Trouble is I don't think there's anyone else in the squad who could do any better - so he stays in the 11 for me.

Hes a good passer although he cant really make a tackle or win headers. Hes also decent as set pieces. Underrated passing wise imo

He's a good passer over six yards. That's not enough for a central midfielder at this level.

He's no worse than the man at the side of him. Mainly because they are both awful.

What is even worse than either of their personal abilities though is the absolutely awful tactics of playing TWO defensive midfielders together and absolutely no attacking option through the middle of the park at all.

We had two defensive midfielders on display today but Doncaster passed it through them like they weren't there and at times were queuing up on the edge of our box

Rather have Etuhu, JOB or Cwyka in the side to be honest. The guy ain't made a challenge in a month

Are they really defensive midfielders though Supertyke? They don't have a tackle between them. They offer nothing at either end.

On paper they'e both defensive midfielders and their invisible 10 yard rope that they use to tether themselves to Martin Cranie certainly suggests that they're defensive midfielders however their tackling ability suggests that they are actually ballerinas.

I've tried to be patient with him as he hasn't played a lot for a while, but I've come to the conclusion after today that he's not likely to get much better. Dawson did more in the time he was on than Fox did all game, and he's not exactly a world beater. Hope we don't sign him any longer term.

He does the simple things ok. The problem is the tactic of playing 2 defensive midfielders particularly against opponents as limited as Donny. It should be him or Perkins or Etuhu as defensive midfielders not 2 from 3. I despair of this tactic. So negative and self defeating.
