Would take a job at a club who sack their manager after losing just one game in there last 6 conceding just 7 goals along the way and that one defeat being at the hands of the team who are the favorites to win the league, add to that the fact you're expected to cope with one of the smallest budgets in the league, and even keeping the team up against all odds won't even save you your job come the following season if you get off to a rocky start ?
there is a lot of out of work managers who would jump at the chance to manage any club, getting harder and harder for managers to get back into the game. Danny Wilson is out of work, there should be someone speaking to him now to see if he would be interested in a return to the club, if he would be then lets set the wheels in motion and get him in straight away. Wilson likes to develop young players and with the few good youngsters we have he would be an ideal appointment for me and would generate a bit of positivity back at the 'Well
They might look and see 6 wins out of 30 or indeed 2 out of 15 and the worst defence in the league not having been out of the bottom three all season and think 'aye that's the reason'.
Danny Wilson FAILED to get Sheffield united out of league one with a massive budget and a very good squad. Also he FAILED to get Swindon promoted with a very good team from league one and caused MASSIVE problems financially for them which later lead them to have a transfer embargo.
Look at Wilson's overall win ratio and its very impressive. Do you not think United might now be regretting the decision to get rid of him given their league position?
He caused a lot of the problems at Sheffield united and it will take a long time to undo like it did at Swindon.
What problems did he cause at Sheff Utd? I was surprised he was naive enough to go there in the first place but when he was sacked I thought it was one of the most harsh sackings I'd seen in years.
Brought in a lot of wrong experienced players. Didn't get the best team promoted with the best budget. He messed up at Swindon
If you're talking about is first season then you surely can't hold him accountable for Ched Evans? Had he not been sent down they would have finished top two IMO.
Plenty would. I reckon candidates would see how much backing Flicker has had despite the biggest squad I can remember in years, blanking a club legend, bringing in too many loans, not developing young players etc. Ben and Maurice with their contacts may just surprise us with who they could get to come.
United had been relegated. They didn't have a massive budget at all. His win percentage there is over 50%. He lost Ched Evans, the rapist, and they failed to go up. They sacked him last season when he had them in the top four. He signed Charlie Austin from non-league for Swindon, didn't he? Bet they hate him for all the add-ons they've benefited from recently. Tha talking daft again, Hemsworth. But it's no shock to me. Danny came before your time therefore he's bad. A bad man.
Go on then. I'd love to know what problems Danny Wilson caused at Sheffield United. Had the board not panicked near the end of the season last time around I am confident that he would have got them promoted. They were top 4 when he was sacked. Bizarre bonkers decision. Had Evans not been sent down, they would have been up at the first attempt.
