I can see where people are coming from, but surely we must stick with this man.

    HOWEVER

He needs to get back to the positivity of last season. A few matches back when he started
to ring changes I thought he had got the message, but Saturday's substitutions sadly showed
the same negative tactics that have got us where we are this season. I thought
he started with the right team, although I would like to see more use of RNL & Digby.

I think what I'm posting is stating the bleeding obvious.

I hope Flicker turns it round & we get behind the team.

    COYR!

Why do you think we should stick with him though?

I know we played poor on Saturday, but we were still the better side and just very poor finishing was the difference.

Personally, I'd be more worried if I was a Doncaster fan.

Points tally is looking bad, but I'm not throwing the towel in yet......I've seen enough in this last few weeks to give me confidence going forward.

    1. Last season
    2. I think the players respect him still & are working there arses off, even if one or too might not be good enough.
    3. No better options out there, unless you go for Tony Pullis or Warnock, who would play the sort of football most Reds fans despise.

We can only cling onto point one. There's very little evidence of point two and I will 100% guarantee there is someone out there who can do a better job.

yes, Dave Bassett played long ball

I remember leaving a game we had won 5-3 (I think) & people moaning about long ball

I like to see us doing well.

    It ain't easy pal.

I agree to an extent but I think time is running out for him and he will only have himself and his negative tactics to blame if he is sacked. The question for me is how much longer do we let him have?

Indeed. I've never known us play so much hoof. At least the likes of Pulis/Warnock et al would play direct football effectively. Just launching it down the left wing and isolating your strikers has got us how many goals this season?

I don't recall much long ball in the 1999-2000 season. In fact, I just remember us nearly regaining our Prem status after watching us out-score the opposition playing vibrant attacking football with some of the best players to wear the Red shirt - Higgy, Barnard, Eaden, Shipps, Dyer and of course, Keith Brown.

I agree Whitey, but I DID hear people complain & Bassett did lose his job. In my opinion unfairly.

I loved the great passing moves of the early "Keef" era, but the latter passing stalemate was SHIITE.

A winning team should get support. Let's hope that he can turn it round.

I'd prefer us if we do change to appoint a manager who plays good football whether it be of the high pressing variety or otherwise. It is more important to get one that wants to develop our young players and is prepared to take a chance on them. I had genuinely thought and hoped that Flitcroft was this type of manager but it appears not.

Most managers just offer lip service to bringing in youngsters plus the token one gets a game or two to keep Cryne happy.

They went from conceeding 13 in 3, to keeping a clean sheet against us. So I think they will be pleased with an away point and clean sheet.

It was not unfair. He was not committed to the club

good question mate we only just escaped last year and I think we will have less points this year as at the time when Hill left. Hope we can pull it round I would hate us to go back into the lower leagues the football there is shocking. Still like yourself I will be there whatever the league

It's so disappointing and frustrating to be in this position again after the positivity of the summer. Going back to the pub league is unthinkable especially as I fear we'll be there for quite a while if we drop.
