Re: I'm a bit confused Andy, mate Yes, I probably worded that wrong, but I know what I meant and that's all that matters.... But seriously, what I was trying to say was that on occasions where I've said I've been told summat, on the occasions I've declined to share sources or more details (with good reason) I've been lambasted or as Spartacus puts it "Whitey talks *****". When I do name sources or expand on the detail, I'm lambasted for doing so. Thing is, I don't talk *****. I get told various stuff. It's up to me to decide whether I believe it enough myself to then share it. And, there are a lot of folk on here who - via PM - will know I get more right than wrong. Perhaps I ought to stick to that means of communicating such rumours in future? I'm still a bairn, still learning.
Re: I'm a bit confused Andy, mate theres certain elements on this board and used to be on the board that think they have a god given right to every piece of bumf that's going around oakwell and if they get told that its confidential then they either put their own spin on a half fact they've heard in a boozer or just make something up, and if you challenge them you get trolled, threats, called a racist, and not a proper fan, and that's why a lot of the banter has gone off the site and a lot of people have stopped using it, i'll now go and put my white hood on, burn a cross, pi55 on my season ticket, and cheer/abuse flicker, the board, and everything Barnsley, then I've pleased/upset everyone
Re: I'm a bit confused Andy, mate So when a member of the old no.7 club chimes up with. "I've heard from a reliable source" We can assume it came from Shitey...
In all fairness It'd be a small hood, mate! I don't think there's an issue with rumours & the like, especially when they're acknowledged for being just that. But the original post was, for me, spot on with his misgivings in respect of highly sensitive information being leaked to those outside the club's inner workings. Rumours of incoming transfers is one thing. Claims of the club sounding out other managers whilst still employing someone in that position is another, if it's true. It's unethical, unprofessional and destabilising to the club. If people are made aware of such confidential dealings, I'd suggest it'd be beneficial to all parties concerned to keep a diplomatic silence. They themselves, however, may have ulterior & less salubrious motives in wanting to disclose the issues.
Re: In all fairness I agree "balders" sorry "sir balders" its the thing where someone tells someone else in confidence and then when they say I cant tell you who said, that's when people round on them, so yes, if you hear owt keep thi gob shut !
Re: In all fairness soz mate, that might have read that I meant you, theres nothing further from the truth, I meant the halfheads that set off with a little bit of bumf and turn it into war and peace no matter what the facts are.... mwah !
I blame Jim Iley Even if the club IS muting the possibility of replacing the manager, I would expect it to be kept in house, within the confines of the boardroom. Nothing positive can be gained by releasing the sensitive information to players, staff or whoever.
