    One could say the statistics don't lie, but one goal would have been enough on Saturday, and two goals would have been enough in previous 2 games.

    Jay is absolutely bang-on when he says we are improving.

    Happily take 1.2 average for rest of season. But not 0.8 scored...

    What we are saying then is, defence keep up the current good job, strikers/midfield need to convert more.

    I'm not so sure; I think the opposition may have something to do with it. We've been poor against poor teams and got away with it.

    We've been the better team in all those recent games, it was the opposition who got away with it. That's not to say we played really well but lets be fair we didn't get away with it, they did

    That is sort of what I meant, we were the better side against two abject sides and we edged it against Ipswich; had we been playing a decent side I think we'd have lost. One way or another we have got to get back to the performance levels of the second half of last season.

    This will all go out the window when we get beat by Millwall next game. Unfortunately it looks like we are in for another season of mediocrity (like thats owt different)

    The Wednesday game the 10 minutes around when they scored they could easily have had 2 or 3 more. Middlesborough were close enough to an equaliser.

    Exactly. Enjoy the average improvement - when our results turn to ***** again shortly.

    Hope I'm proved stupidly wrong but its going to catch up with us eventually we can't keep avoiding the drop by the skin of our teeth each season.

    Given our current midfield as of Saturday who is going to score?

    O' Brien 9 goals in 4 years
    Perkins 2 goals in 3 years
    Fox 0 goals in 3 years
    paddy not a noted goalscorer

    O'Grady's record is still amongst the divisions best.
    Alongside his 2 in 5 starts Pedersen has won 2 penalties.

    It's hard to see given the current midfield where any offensive improvements will come.
