Lesson there for our manager - leave him on the pitch for the WHOLE game. Stop messing about with things, stop feeling you HAVE to bring Scotland on. I think we have had the best of Jason with his cameo sub appearances last season. He has already proved this season that he is unlikely to repeat that. So, what do we have? An INTERNATIONAL striker who is clearly fit enough to play 90 minutes and scores a goal for his country. What does Mr Flitcroft have to do? (see above) Simple game, football.
Yes he............. does and ..................the answer to that is............no, can't ..............think..................of..................one........................
Not Marcus's fault, unless he made two errors at the other end of the pitch. His goal was the equaliser, in the 78th minute, and Denmark got a last minute winner
Who didn't have a poor game against Doncaster? I would still back Pedersen to do something special in the opposition box ahead of Dagnall, Scotland etc. I don't recall seeing him miss any open goals yet, like the one that JS had at Ipswich. That doesn't mean he is perfect, but you don't get in the Norway team at 20 years old if you are not a decent player. I just hope we keep him long enough to see him getting even better. Could be a 20 goals a season man, maybe even this season? Well, provided our manager starts leaving him on the pitch, of course!
I've no problem at all with how Flicker has handled Pedersen. Pedersen is a true professional in every sense of the word. He works his ******** off. It's very rare you get a loan player that works as hard as he does. I've no doubt he can last 90 minutes, but after the ground he's covered through the game he's not as sharp in the last quarter of an hour as he is for the proceeding 75 minutes. And, in the last couple of games, despite his obvious class and even though he's put in the effort, things haven't quite come off for him. Unlike you, I don't think Scotland is shot. He's got a couple of goals this season despite only starting 3 games. The same amount of goals as Pedersen who has 5 starts. I think Scotland is the ideal player to bring on for the last 15 minutes and I think he still has goals in him. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm not saying I'm right, it's just opinions, but there's definitely more than one way to look at it and from my point of view the manager is getting this part of the game right.
He is still a half decent player but not the same one we had last season. He was an excellent impact sub, scoring goals regularly but I think this is one season too far for him, as far as we are concerned that is. He doesn't improve things when he comes on so I just see it as a pointless substitution really and one that the manager should stop doing every match. It's as if he feels he HAS to bring players on, even though things rarely change because of his actions
There was one point in the game where the goalie spilled the ball from our pressure and pederson was adjusting his boot, think I would have subbed him tbh it was only with hindsight that Scotland was voted wrong choice imo but at the time I was satisfied with the decision
Pedersen will make mistakes, just like any other player. He will not be ready, or not quite reach a ball fizzing across the six yard area. The thing is though, he is young enough and fit enough to get on the end of balls like that more often than he misses them. The best players know where they should be in anticipation of a ball coming through. He will develop that skill with each season he plays. Unfortunately it might be a couple of years before he reaches that level, and he will be an ex-Barnsley player by then
