Except it does. Back in the 80s, wearing a leather jacket, hair halfway down my back, we always got treated with suspicion by the police, even when it was skinheads attacking us in Sheffield when we were going to gigs, the cops didn't do anything.

Didn't realise singing was an offence.

Singing isn't but singing whilst drunk and waving your arms around, pushing and shoving your way past people who are walking normally can be considered to be causing a nuisance.

Why would anybody need a coat with goggles in the hood? Are they exclusive for football hooligans and pilots?

Chav is over used and wrongly used. Especially where CP is concerned.

Still disagree. It's a football game, singing is part of it. You are going to get pushing and shoving in a crowd, it happens everywhere.

Nope developed for racing car drivers in a bygone era, made it onto the cat walks in Milan years later and then into the shops of the city.

Like how the C.P. goggle coat can be classed as 'chavvy' - how many young tearaways can afford a £500 jacket?

Agreed Jim, hence the over use of the word chav.. I thought chav was an Essex thing that described young scruffy ****s in fake Burberry, socks over trackys riding bmx bikes that were too small for them? Not well dressed kids at a footy match. These "casuals" over the years have been the forefront of British fashion.

Agree, when I was younger I used to spend every last quid on the latest fashion, I love seeing the younger end keeping up the 'casual' movement on the 'terraces'. Amazes me when they get called 'chavs' - they are at the opposite end of the radar!

Just wish I could fit into my Lois cords and Pringle jumpers still !

Football hooligans have always found the money for designer clothes, football and beer. And yes, they're all idiots. Please don't try to suggest otherwise.

The 'football holligans' as you put it are the ones who follow their clubs to the end of the country and back week in week out!

No. You're getting confused with football supporters. Football hooligans are the ones who go to football matches to terrorise people who don't support the same team as them, cause criminal damage and act like cnuts.
