Didn't know that stat Whitey. Steele :7 Games 18 goals conceded Butland : 7 games 9 Conceded. Think If Butland was in the net from the start of season then we wouldn't have let anywhere near the amount of goals in. PS. Would have got a lot more points. Don't think we draw the game against Charlton for example.
I enjoy your blogs whitey. But before I open it, does it basically just say 'flicker is $hit, I was right all along'? If it does, I'll wait for the next update..
Sorry posting as i read. Chris O'GRADY WILL NOT HAVE BEEN ASKED TO PLAY LEFT WING. It doesn't happen, never will. It's about annoying as the MELLIS can't play on the let wing. YES HE CAN.
Maybe read the whole article, then have a think, then construct a response. Without the use of upper case. It's rude
Yes you did know that Arsene. And I think we all know that Butland has benefited from a much better defensive display overall with Kennedy offered much more protection which in turn means that Butland has at times had nothing at all to do while Steele was under pressure every week. Butland is **** on crosses by the way and drops the ball regularly.
No archaeology section again, very disappointed! I was determined to argue with every point you made, but found it a fair and well reasoned write up. Damn! Well done again Andy, old mate.
you reckon that week after week Chris O'Grady is ignoring the managers instructions to get central and yet never gets subbed for this blatent lack of respect that he shows Flitcroft and gets picked despite him messing up the managers plans every week by trying to play left wing?
There isn't any point posting about this. All i will say is get Barnsley player and watch the game against Doncaster back. He gets in behind there defence on both sides.
''I hear people - in their defence of Flicker - telling me we've failed using 3-5-2 this season, yet I'm struggling to recall us playing it that often.'' Our worse performance came with that formation. The way Southampton countered it was scary. i was sat up in East upper for that game and they did a job on that formation and any team could do it. Yes they have good players and played good playersi n that game but the way they worked us was concerning even for someone who likes to stay positive.
I'd suggest the 5-1 mauling by Watford, or the 4-0 thumping by an average Wigan were more concerning defeats. We played 4-4-2. I see little shame in getting thumped by a side who are flying in the Prem, with England internationals in the side and £10m strikers. In a cup game.
We drew the Charlton game because TK can't use his right foot. And those stats make it look bad for Steele, and I do say in the blog that he wasn't in good form, and also admitted Butland was the better keeper. But I also make the most valid of points, and that's that Luke didn't have a settled side ahead of him. He had an ever-changing back four, who were at sixes and sevens. But then, you'll see that as Steele's fault. Naturally.
No, because the manager should always be allowed to select whichever players he likes. I don't have to agree with those selections, though. I pays my money etc etc.
No, because I've never said he was ****, so that wouldn't make sense. It's basically a statistical update on the season thus far, with my own flawed opinion thrown in.
So he's playing left wing against the managers wishes? Ok. And I didn't say Mellis can't play left wing. I said he was better used centrally, which he is. Interesting to note that he's leading the way in assists, though. No surprise we don't score once he's injured.
Hes not playing left wing full stop. Hes playing up front. Hes a striker who scored 7 in 11. I don't know how to put this so you will stop with this BS but strikers drift about. He got in down the right a couple or so times against Doncaster but he wasn't playing on the right wing then, he drifted out there because he can sense the space and got in but shot i think. Wilson drifted today for Coventry and EVERY striker will do that. Said it before and i will say it again. Stand in the middle and you could be karim benzema or Chris O'grady but you will be marked out of the game.
Strangely enough Alan Shearer never played as a winger either, but he stayed pretty much central, he did occasionally go wide, but he played straight down the middle for 95% of the time and made the defenders earn their wages.
