Not sure it's turned out the way I'd liked but I'm not the artistic type, although I built the well from scratch, the oak leafs came from the internet.

See the red as the shirt and the badge as a white outline, bit like Forest's badge.

No it doesn't say Barnsley FC on it, if you really wanted, it could go underneeth, but I just wanted to try keep it as simple as possible.

Not bad Archery worth considering, what gets me is tat the club have put these four options forward which would not get into fans top ten in a vote.
there's been quite a few of the fans own deigns which are far more suited to being our crest than the clubs attempts.
Heard a few fans saying it doesn't matter what the crest is like but I can't hod to that and I think if club came up with an image of two pit ponies kicking a ball they'd have summat to say.

Simple but stylish, good work archey. :)

But yes, I think it should indeed say "Barnsley FC" somewhere, and I'm not sure if underneath the badge is a good place for it.

I really like that design so to annoy Whitey I've done my own version using your design.

I've used the clubs version of the well, added Barnsley FC and removed the spectemur agendo (to keep it as minimal as possible), also moved the 1887 into the frame of the badge to try to stop the thick line from looking out of place with the brickwork next to it. My thinking of removing spectemur agendo is that it might be good not to have that on the badge at all but instead have that as part of the shirt design so that each year the club can design new places to include it. Across the back of the collar, down a sleeve, up the side of the shirt, at the bottom, big, small, however they want really. It's a bit of a chance for them to make the shirts individual.

Why the break in the badge? I don't get it.

    It looks decent though.

It was just how I imagined it in my head. I couldn't quite get it right in paint though.

Me too. I think you've come up with the best idea yet. And in answer to LDRed I love the idea of the break in the badge. I guess it just kind of makes it a bit more modern and more of a shape than just yet another shield. The modern shape with the break against the old school well gives it (in my opinion) a kind of retro look without being dated. I also think that the break helps to show that the entire white section is the badge and anything else is just the colour of the object it's on.

Here's how it would look on this years away kit for example

Have to admit, I didn't like a single thing about it, but it does look good on the shirt!

Club have just confirmed via Facebook that there's an overwhelming majority so far that want a change in crest.

Do me a favour and ask them (as a comment on their claim on facebook) whether an overwhelming majority have chosen one particular design or if it is a case of simple mathematics with 'keep the existing badge' only making up 20% of the options meaning that it is outnumbered 4 to 1 in the options

Looks decent. I'm not a fan of the well and oak leaf to be honest, but it looks alright on the shirt.

Something else that's been bugging me for a while about this vote is the clubs claim that we've had badges into double figures. We haven't have we? Most of the images which they claim have been our badge on their voting site simply havent. The red flag for example has NEVER appeared on our shirts as the club badge, it has been on once as the kit manufacturer but if you are including that then you must also include a bloody koala and pretend that that used to be our badge as well. Same goes for toby tyke. Never been our badge, it is simple a marketing image used for kids. The oakwell badge in the current shield again hasn't been on our badge, it's been used on some tshirts sold by mark stokes but its never been our badge. The council crest in black and white on a white circle, when has that been on our shirts?

I reckon from the 14 images that they claim have been previous badges there have really only been a handful used as proper club badges on the shirts and even then most of them are just reshaped varieties of each other.
