Before anyone says "it's not even December", I firmly believe that if we lose these two games we will be relegated. We are not going to see a repeat of the second half of last season. We needed to string a decent run together with the more winnable fixtures we have had over the past month. That run of fixtures ends with the Birmingham game (although we do have Yeovil sandwiched in there) so we have to take full advantage. A defeat to either of these two will see us further marooned and once you get to six or seven points the gap starts to become insurmountable. The bare minimum from these two should be a victory over Birmingham and a draw at Millwall. Anything less than two draws and it should be time up for Flitcroft.

If the bottom four do become cut adrift and that being us, Donny, Wednesday and Yeovil, the bigger problem will be that we have to play them all away after Christmas. I don't have any faith that we could go to the Keepmoat and get summat. Two wins all season says it all.

Time to earn your coin Flitcroft.

Agreed. Starting to lack any care for it though, just taking it as it comes. Apathy rules. Again.

I tend to agree too. I was bitterly disappointed with the results (and in part the performances) against Wednesday and Donny - both games we were told were winnable. If we don't pick up six points from the games against Brum, Millwall and Yeovil I think we will go down.

Like Ponty all my optimism and hope has now gone.

But doesn't somebody say something along these lines before every match at the moment?

I can almost agree with that too. At least we were trying to play football this time last season. Flicker has now got us playing an awful style and still not getting the results. Turgid stuff.

We looked to have a plan and looked like we were trying to develop a way of playing. Which is why I love Keith the stupid f.cker.

I agree. Take the Donny/Yeovil game on Sky friday night. If Yeovil win we go bottom. If Donny avoid defeat it means even if we manage a rare win against Millwall we will still be in the bottom three. Not one of the three outcomes of that match is a good one for us.

I honestly think we'll have a new manager before Xmas

I dont give a **** how negative it comes across but draws at home against relegation fodder is not progress. We've got England's no.2 goalkeeper and still cant win a match. Too much rope given and nigh on hung himself.

Time for Ben to earn his coin.

Personally I'd prefer a draw but in the grand scheme of things the result of that game doesnt really matter at the moment - all we need to do is start collecting points and we will move up the table - unless we get a similar freak scenario to last season

I dont think losing away at Millwall is a season defining game - though points would be nice - we do need to start winning some home games though - need at worst a win and a draw from the next 3 games or I think the pressure will start to become a problem 2 wins would be extremely beneficial

The irony is, this argument that 'there's no way we'd repeat what we did last season'. What made 2013 such a freak, was that all the teams around us also had a 'top 6' 2013.

So are all the naysayers assuming that the teams around us will have another 'top 6' 2014? If they are, why can't we? In all possibility, even if we were in the same boat come January, we wouldn't need the amount of points we did last year, to survive.

    Can't have it both ways.

I think it's cos the manager that fashioned the about turn in results last year has (imho) been the architect of our weak as piss performances this.

The other teams around us don't need to have a top 6 2014 - they just need to do better than us. Not exactly difficult.
