He had similar success to Martinez while he was with us apparently. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24913097
I was just reading that myself. This bit caught my eye: "I was expecting not to be in a position where my job was under scrutiny because I thought everybody knew what it was that we were trying to do." Edit: Actually it's a different article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24990624
I hate the way he generalises about Barnsley fans and their expectations. I just got completely sick of him spouting on about how we didn't have any money; his tactics were poor as well. I never expected us to challenge for the play offs, but to occasionally score a few goals and win a few games would have been nice. He became obsessed with this idea of developing players, but all we did was pass the ball round in circles with no end product...
Thank f'ck that bellend isn't in charge any more. You didn't get sacked for trying to develop players Keith, you got sacked for being cut adrift at the bottom of the table playing the shittest football possible. You got sacked for continually picking Wiseman when he had no confidence at all left. You got sacked for trying to pass through teams when we didn't have the players. We were the easiest team in the league to play against. Sit back in your own half cos they won't break us down, then when they get a couple of men forward counter them. Once you're ahead that's game over cos he had no idea how to change a game and break down an opposition. But no Keith, it was the fans that wanted the play-offs. If you'd actually interacted with the fans instead of consistantly having a go at them, you might have understood that not one person expected us to get anywhere near the play-offs. What we didn't expect is to be the worst team in the league with absolutely no hope of improvement. We were getting worse with each game that he took. Found his level now I reckon.
Conan needs Roger's profanisaurus. Cut through Keith's bravado and the underlying message is quite correct re football finances.
I have it here in the office drawer, here's two he can use: Bell end: An amusingly named tent; The bobbys helmet; bobby splithead; The glans of the penis or ****: A gentlemen's chicken
All Keith is doing is trying to justify his position in football; he's grasping at (what he believes is a positive) in a barrel full of negatives. Overall he was an abject failure at BFC, otherwise, why would he have been sacked? IDIOT.
He talks ******** on the other side of hill as well then. His head is so big, it won't fit up his own arse.
It is, there's some sense spoken in that. But there's also some utter ballacks. 'I fell on my sword'. Did you Keith, when was that like? Typical Keith interview really. "Football is ****, most other people are ****, yadda yadda yadda, in conclusion I'm great."
Hes right in a lot of what he said. He did have his budget cut from what Mark Robins had, Anyone but the most stupid could see that. We did Cut the budget early and fit in to FFP earlier than any other club with the owner Mr Cryne and i think that was the right thing to do. Some expensive players at the club when Robins was here but he cut that and lowered things. Again I agree. that's allowed us to get in front of the game and slightly grow the budget in the summer in my opinion. I think what Keith and the Owner did will not be fully appreciated for another 2/3 season at least. Some of our performances were very good. 4231. Nice and simply. press up the field and pass the footballl, Lovely. Charlton away. What a game.
Was already looking forward to getting home from work, I'm positively wet with anticipation now. Gu on, Keeeith.
