The Aussies are pretty good at The Gabba - aren't they unbeaten since 1988 there? I think we'll lose the first test but win the series 2-1. Have that you Aussies!!

Can't believe there is no highlights package on C5, like the home tests. I have lost Sky Sports since moving house so am very annoyed that I will miss the whole thing

This ashes series will pass by most of the nation. Sad but true.

    Looking forward to it Jim.

Not sure if you listened to Ashes Roadshow in the summer with Andrew Flintoff but if you did its back tonight at 7.

Also been thinking about a few of the leading run scorers/ wicket takers ....

    So...

    Leading run scorer, Johnathan Trott

Leading wicket taker. Ryan Harris for Aussies. Think ours will be spread out with us having the better attack. I do however think Broad will be the English Teams leading wicket taker.

    First test, draw.
Series 2-1 to the England and hopefully they get the respect in this country.

This country won't be watching any of it so I reckon apathy will rule, not respect. Unfortunate but that is what happens when there is no coverage, lack of interest.

There is no coverage of this one full stop. No highlights, no nowt (unless I have missed it in the listings). How can people get excited about it when they won't see any of it? I love cricket but I am suffering from the apathy to this one for the above reason, and because of the overkill as we have just finished an ashes series.

That may be true but there used to be prime time highlights coverage in the old days- unfortunately Sky dont want people watching other channels so you can only see even highlights if you subscribe to sky sports which is a shame

    Okay then. Not seen that.
Bit strange that. Sky have about 4 shows on from Ashes Breakfast to the mornings highlight shows to the full highlights show in the evening and ashes verdict which finishes shortly before it starts again live.

5livesportsextra are repeating it from 11 as they are throughout the night if you are able to listen to it?

Not true, if you've got freeview you can watch highlights at 10pm on Pick TV, channel number 11 I think.

The weather over there has been really poor lately and the BBC forecast rain for most days. They played South Africa last year and over 1,000 runs were scored in the first innings. So with a batting wicket and rain I can see a draw.

It's on Pick TV free to view for anyone who can get that station......

Harris will struggle to keep fit for the whole series so i'd pick Siddle as top wicket taker for them with his experience. For us it will be Anderson as Broad blows too hot and cold, while Jimmy is Mr Consistant.

Leading run scorer for me will be Alastair Cook - had a few quid on Root though.
Wicket taker I reckon Tremlett if he stays fit will be up there.

We will win the 1st test - I have so confident about that

Backed Bell last time in Aus, he had a cracking series but because he was number 6 he didn't get enough chances to score big. Back Trott this time round, conditions suit his game and he scored big last time. Will be looking to make amends for the summer so expecting him to really dig in and score plenty.

Broad for top wicket taker, it won't swing loads for Jimmy although he'll get his fair share. Swann could pick wickets up but can see the wickets being very unfriendly for spinners after what he did to their lefties in the summer.

Should be a decent series although I fully expect England to win, can see Australia nicking a test. 2-1 to England with draws in Brisbane and somewhere else.

Ah but Hemsy was posting about channels 1 -5 so thats what I meant :)

Actually I had no idea - its either been very poorly advertised or only advertised on channels I never usually watch ( Like Pick for example)
