Are these constant Newsbot updates that tell us nowt or state the bleedin obvious really necessary to this forum?
I think we should get rid of them too. It would cut down on multiple threads talking about the same thing too. Many times someone starts a thread talking about something and then Newsbot makes a new thread about it.
They have been posted for years. They are RSS feeds from websites which publish Barnsley News. They were all posted as Gally and some members moaned that they thought it was Gally posting. We changed the name to make it obvious they were being posted automatically as that it was a BOT usually does. This way if members don't want to click on them they don't have to. Just because they are of no interest yourself doesn't mean others don't read them. Just don't click on them or are you unable to control your hands
Me and Newsy are going to Prague for the weekend on the lash but he's taking his Blackberry with him so he'll still be posting updates from the local press - provided he can find some free wifi, he's a tight git.
I generally don't open the Newsbot posts so my gripe isn't with the ***** in the link but rather that there are so many they are pushing the decent posts down the order. Newsbot is a git.
I agree with Mario, decent threads are pushed down or even off the front page by (IMO) largely meaningless one line news items. Couldn't news bot be given his (her?) own sub-forum?
