Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Well like most in this country I recognise that Sky hold us all to ransom but I am prepared to pay it just to watch things like The Ashes. Not bothered about wall to wall sports really, just things I really want. Trouble is that BT Vision, who I am hooked up to, cannot provide it at this address for technical reasons. There is an option to buy one day passes on line, and I did that last week for the Ipswich match. £10 for 24 hours though and I don't want to pay £50 to watch every test match - that would be too much. Anyway, good luck down there and enjoy the matches that you can get to. If I get a ticket for Saturday's lottery and win I will look you up at one of them!
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Sky/Fox is essentially the same thing. They share the same commentators (or they always tend to when it's England/Australia). The terrestrial commentary over here is usually done by Channel 9 & ABC, but have absolutely no idea where the boxes are placed in the ground. I've been to The Gabba but it was about 4 years ago & it was for a tour, not for an actual game.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate I think Micheal Vaughans working for Channel 9 out there. Do you guys get Bumble in Australia. He's the best. Some of the things he says just make me laugh.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate I try not to watch the Channel 9 coverage if possible, it's **** and unbelievably biased. It's presented by Mark Nicholas, the ex Hants batsman. He's the token Pom on the coverage, but to be fair he's absolutely terrible. I watch the Fox coverage, which is basically the Sky feed because at least you tend to get a balanced view. There's no difference at all apart from the lunch break interviews etc - They obviously tailor that to Australian viewers
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Okay. It's bad enough listening to Warne Ar Judd, he really can annoy big time. Always having ago at our players.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Would have been strange for the natives not being able to listen (for different reasons) to Benaud or Greig on Ashes commentary for an home series. Two great commentators there. Aussie fans should have just listened to Allan Border...... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BZkF7rBCUAAjacy.jpg
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Can't call this first test yet until England have batted. Apparently it is easier to bat in this wicket on the second day rather than the first according the Brisbane locals. Weather forecast set fair for a full second days play. Fingers crossed we can start off better with the bat for a change in an away first test.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Try this deal for a one day pass. Beers at the bottom of the page, look on the carling pack. http://www.nisalocally.co.uk/Promotions
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Thanks but I unexpectedly found a link giving free access to Sky Sports 2 and, with a couple of drops of service, it was good. I watched through to the lunch break, went to bed for a couple of hours then got up to watch the rest of play. Result! Wiziwig tv - hope I haven't let myself in for a load of viruses!
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate I managed to find a half-decent stream at work no problems - I was all primed to watch it on my FoxGo app & realised that because it's in Australia and they hold the rights, it's only on terrestrial TV only, which actually makes a refreshing change. Although there's absolutely no digital radio coverage available through the PC out here, which is a bit of a pisser as i'd have liked to listen to TMS whilst watching the Sky feed. Skittle 'em for 310 whilst the ball is still relatively new & in batting well before lunch would be an idea scenario.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate I've got TMS on my earphones coming through the phone. Sky Sports 2 on Wiziwig.tv for pictures, unfortunately about three balls behind the TMS broadcast. Can't synch them but no matter. Planning the same as last night - watch until lunchtime (2am here), bed for a few hours, up to watch the close of play (maybe last 2 hours. Hope Haddin doesn't hang around
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Bit of luck early for England there. he tried to leave it. England a bit messy this morning. Let a few runs go. This outfields a disgrace. Someones knees going to feel it and we could end up with a really bad injury.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Brilliant Carbs, hes so quick. Good from Prior who got through that nicely. Never looked to be struggling
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Wow. This is truly embarrassing. Struggling to avoid the follow- on. Unbelievably poor batting on a crap wicket.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate You said it. What really bugs me is the fact that our batsmen have made Mitchell look brilliant. And he's not.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Shocking batting again. That stat they read out just before Tea about our 1st innings totals in away series, not made 200 in the last 5! Bell and Priors dismissals were embarrassing and the defensive mindset that we get into regularly is shocking. Still nice 100 partnership here and we remain in control
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Went to sleep about 2 and woke up to this. Whats going on. Lets hope the rains to come tomorrow and england have to only bat for about 150 overs to try and save it. Why does such a good team do this every first innings of the first test. This as been a problem for years.
Re: Now that's an impressive goal, mate Regular poor preparation. This time affected by weather but its standard for us.
