I was a bit giddy for the first day (night) yesterday and went for a 3 session strategy...

watch first hour (midnight til 1am)
    kip
watch half hour before tea (real depth of the night so you don't even know the time)
    kip
last hour (an early breakfast time over here)

Not sure a 2 kip approach is the most restful, although you do keep up to date with match progress more regularly.

Spoke to my mate tonight and he's has gone for bed at half 8, up at 3 and see it through to the end of play at about 7am then off to the coal face.

Of course weekends can accommodate a more aggressive watching regime, when there's no work in the morning.

    Your thoughts appreciated.

up all night till end of play then sleep at 7am till midday - bit of housework to keep the mrs off my back, eat tea at 5 ish, quick power nap and repeat. Saturday is going to be a killer though, no sleep all day

I'm listening on the radio until I fall asleep. Up for work so probably won't last much past two o'clock but may go all night tomorrow.

Mine is to get the kids in bed then watch it on t'internet with a glass or two of wine! I miss the last hour or so to go to bed, but other than that it is perfect timing when you live 7 hours behind UK time. Lucky me.

I'm a student so it's a bit easier for me, especially with no uni tomorrow.

Worked on it all this week by staying up til 3ish and getting up around midday to get. Last night I did the full night, bed for half an hour, uni for a couple of hours. Back in bed for 10.30, slept til 6 this evening. Now I'll just stay up til close and sleep from 7.30 onwards tomorrow. Pretty much turned my body clock upside down.

Be careful with sleep though, if you have too long you get more tired. Just 20 mins will do you perfect, had a few powernaps before and they work a treat if you only do 20 mins. Ideal for the lunch break.

Start work at 6 so rather than getting up at 5.15 I'm getting up at 5 and catching half hour. Which I'd stayed in bed 129-9 oh dear!

My strategy has been to go bed at the usual time, between 10 and 11pm, get up for work about half 6, set off about 7.10, then listen to people at work who have never shown the slightest bit of interest in cricket in the past suddenly having a deep conversation about the technicalities of it.

Miss every second of it because I haven't got Sky. I was always a big England cricket fan and watched all the tests when they used to be on terrestrial TV. Then they moved to Sky and I couldn't watch them any more. Then I started to lose interest. Then I lost every shred of interest. Now I've no idea who the majority of players are in the team. I hope they win, because I hope that all England sports teams win, but I've got about as much affinity with them as I have with the English water polo team.

Watch until 12:45am, go to bad all happy that we're well on top, wake up at 7am having had a contented night's sleep, blissfully unaware that we've collapsed like a pack of cheap cards
