that I am now totally sick to death of having my week-end ruined to some degree by a bunch of incompetent people. By that I mean the whole "Sha Bang" that is now Barnsley FC. I am gonna watch the Dr Who 50th anniversary show.. and then a movie.. I have recently had a change in my work pattern that would allow me to get to Oakwell a bit... but sorry I have to say.. "Why the hell bother" obviously the Hierarchey and management cannot or will not sort things out... so sorry why should I bother too.
no seriously mate I am pissed off I have recently taken a shorter week working pattern as I can now afford to do so and thus the shifts mean I can get up to Yorkshire and see around a dozen or so of a seasons home games as opposed to about 3. That will still involve a 500 mile round trip too. But I have to ask myself this question .. " Why the hell bother " when the team and management etc etc cannot be arsed to get it right. Sorry its cheaper to get a decent Video each week and a good bottle of wine.
Re: so are you at one with the current situation... if so See what I did there DT, I drew a reaction... Thats your free lesson, £50 a go from now on.
Re: no seriously mate I am pissed off You make a very good point, DT. Football clubs need to wake up to the fact that there is a lot of competition for the entertainment dollar today. People are entitled to ask "what could I get for my entrance money/season ticket money?" I've made no secret I'm in the "floating voter" category. On here, that usually gets you the "glory hunter" or "FO to Man Utd" merry quips. I'm not desperate for glory or for guarantees of winning things. But I do want to see true entertainment, and a feeling that I'm supporting a club with some sort of ambition, and at least a desire to achieve some progress. I think that the folk on here with that attitude are growing, and I'm damn near certain that the "support you evermore"/"dyed in the wool"/"through thick and thin"/"happy clappers" community are now fewer in number than would suffice to guarantee the club a future. So there is really no choice but to act in order to bring back the entertainment, and to re-institute the feeling that we are a club that is making progress.
totaaly correct... the club is so missing an opportunity here when I first started going in the early 60's our big shadow was Sheffield ... today both are struggling. To get BFC up and running could really make dividends. But it will take money its that simple. To that end I fear we are fooked.
