Ashes - Day 4

After such a miserable day on the football front, the question is how long can I bear to stay up and listen to day 4 on TMS tonight?

Needs Pietersen and Cook to still be there by tea time for us to stand a chance. Pietersen has already edged 1 onto his pads - nervy start.

 

Finished by 1am. Aussies have worked us out, and we think we're too good to lose this. Hopefully a wake up call, but the signs were there in the summer. Bowlers can't bail out too many out of form batsmen this time around.

 

Why did KP play that shot,

 

No idea, idiotic first ball after tea.

 

Yep straight after drinks and he plays that shot.
They didn't look under pressure, annoying.

 

Sorry not tea, drinks. Such a comfortable first hour, proving what we've said all along that the pitch is still flat.

 

Yes, Just need to keep there heads. The longer the day goes the more tired they will get.

Well this Test at least.

 

Fell to sleep for the last session and woke up this morning to all out. Would never have believed that would happen at 4am this morning.

In the first session as you will see from the comments above it was quite good from England with only KP getting out toa ball he just mistimed. It was really only the ball that caused him a problem apart from maybe the second one which he inside edged it onto his pad. Didn't look like getting out until he got out which might sound silly but some will know what I mean.

Cook in both sessions looked really good and just got on with things.

Bell same as above until he got out really. Looked good and put the bad balls away.

Didn't see much of root but in the balls that he faced before the storm.

It seems the sessions I miss when I go to sleep are the worst.
Day one, missed the last session when Haddin and Johnson got into England. Okay they got two wickets but the Aussies got a lot of runs.
Day two, I missed the middle session which England went from 2 to pretty much all out in the middle session.
Day three, I missed the middle session when the Aussies putt here foot down although on day three you could say the last session was the worst for England with them losing two wickets for nothing really.
Day four, missed the session they went from 4 down to all out.

 

So what you saying Kermit?

 

I watched until the second rain break and we were 8 down. Between breaks we had a nightmare losing 4-9 I think. Terrible batting, the Prior dismissal summed it all up for me. Falling into the most obvious of plans every time.

 

So, all our batsmen played well until they were out. I would suggest most batsmen in the history of cricket play well until they are out.

 

If you watched it p72 you would know what I mean. wellie will understand what I mean.
Trott, you could see that he was getting out. 2/3 of the next weeks you couldn't.
