I don't know about Ben enticing the missing stay away fans back he wants to concentrate on keeping the ones he's already got cos flicker is doing a great job driving them away.
Have we ever gone from euphoria and unity to despair and disunity in such a short period of time? Nice one Flicker.
yes that's so true and yet if you multiply today's problems by years minus the lack of ambition divide it by display add on the clubs previous apathy towards fans and the unprofessional way it was run then Ben just might scratch the surface on where are the missing fans. Trouble is very little seems to change :
Our away support in recent seasons has been piss poor. Even when we was picking up last season fighting, we didn't sell out at Middlesbrough whereas a few years ago, i remember going under Robins and we took a good few thousand with nothing really to play for. I know ticket prices are expensive and I wouldn't expect us to sell out on Tuesday nights or at the likes of Brighton, Ipswich and Watford etc but our support closer to home at Forest, Middlesbrough, Hull last season amongst others has been pathetic.
I'm probably a 5-6 away games per season fan........but it is easy to see why REDS fans dont turn out in numbers, just look at the away form. That'll be a good indicator.
Ben Mansford said in pre-season that we'd had a considerable rise in season ticket sales from last season - what must those lapsed fans who decided to buy a season ticket for this year be thinking now? Whether we stay up or go down, it's gonna be hard to keep these fans coming back
Same here. I go to roughly the same number of away games but it's got to the point where I just can't be arsed with any away games. When you consider ticket price, cost of travel, food and drink then you think about the feeble ***** you will have to endure for the ninety minutes you have actually paid for then it is virtually impossible to justify the cost and I won't pi55 another penny against the wall watching this crap away, not until something changes.
Being coshed and having your wallet nicked is comparable to an away day over the last couple of seasons.
Having been to most away games over the last 10 years I'd say our support remains consistent at further flung away grounds but has decreased at nearer grounds. I'd say a combination of the squeeze on incomes, the ridiculous pricing and our abysmal form. I think unless summat changes this is my last season as an away regular who can afford 2000 plus spend year on year for little or no return. Course I'm refusing to stop until we've won another away game so if flicker stays in charge I might be going for a few years yet.
