Ian Watkins/Lostprophets trial starts tomorrow

One of his co-accused is from Donny, the mother of the victim. How could a mother be part of this disgusting act?

 

Interesting to know IF he's found guilty will his fans still listen to his music?

Same as with wrestling fans. Since Chris Benoit killed his wife, young son and then himself many fans (myself included) haven't watched any of his matches since. Others say you should be able to seperate your love of the talent someone has from their crime. I'm sure plenty of people still listen to Gary Glitter tunes as a fan of his music but no longer the person. If I was a Lostprophets fan and he was found guilty i'd not feel like listening to their tunes anymore. I can kinda understand though why some still would.

 

The barstad has just pleaded guilty to 13 sex offences including 2 attempting to rape a baby!

 

Evil. Sick. Beyond redemption.

The punishment won't fit the crime.

I can't belive the women involved in the case - their own children. Abhorent individuals.

Only good thing is them all admiting guilt so the jury don't have to go through the vile pictures and videos.

I think in this instance, these getting away with only life in prison really isn't justifiable.

 

To say it turns my stomach is a understatement, it's seriously making me feel physically sick, if found guilty I hope the judge tells him he's free to walk.

 

Gary Glitter is pretty much persona non grata including his music these days, but Pete Townsend and George Michael both played at the Olympic Closing Ceremony. Townsend especially sickened me when The Who came out on stage that day and still annoys me now. It does seem like some people can get away with it more than others...

 

Yes, got to feel sorry for the band. I don't really know anything about them, but through no fault of their own this is going to hang over them as they try to rebuild their careers. Lets hope the guilty parties don't see daylight for some time. And hopefully the victims are young enough not to be too mentally scarred by it all. There is going to have to come a time when they have to be told what happened though, before they find out themselves. Horrible situation caused by a few despicable people who deserve everything that is going to come their way.

 

Watkins and the mother's lives are ruined.
They are dead meat as human beings, lower than dog ****.
What's more important is the care of those who were abused, lets hope they grow up unaware of the horrors inflicted upon them, if that is at all possible.

Thing is I'd be suprised if they got 12-14-16 years or thereabouts and be out in half that time?!?

We'll see I suppose. Might be wrong like but if I'm anywhere near that's just further proof that this country is fooked!!!

 

I just hope to god they get the right sentence.

With them admitting it and all of the (by the sounds of it) damning evidence being so obvious (photos, videos etc.) then I don't see how they could "get off" with anything less than life with a minimum of 25 years.

Totally agree. I find it amazing that Townshend remains at the top table, despite having been put on the sex offenders register for his crimes. His excuse, which seems to have been swallowed by gullible fans, is rivalled only by John Terry. He even wrote paedo based songs, but his excuse for that was that he was playing a character! Still, we have the Michael Jackson fall out to look forward to at some point. They are just about keeping the lid on it, but more and more people are starting to speak out. It could well become another Jimmy Savile situation that one, whereby loads of people are going to admit to knowing something after the event.

Me too, although I'm not sure what that is tbh?!? I know what I'd like to although it's not legal!!!

The guilty plea will probably help with a reduced sentence straight away. No previous convictions?!?!? That'll
help aswell. Sick crimes but hasn't he admitted to 'attempted' baby rape (whatever that means?!) so I can see a far more leniant sentence than the ones we'd like to dish out.

Dunno about George Michael, that's a new one on me, but Townshend's was pretty well documented, so I presume there's a motive for your question? To summarise, he was cautioned by the police and placed on the sex offender's register for 5 years for paying to access a website containing child abuse images.

 

George Michael was arrested for "engaging in a lewd act" and has admitted cruising for sex. Not against children but it is a sexual offence.

Pete Townshend was cautioned as part of Operation Ore after paying to register with a website advertising child pornography. At the time he was given a caution, but would now be facing a stretch inside for the same actions...

I think both have criminal records for drugs use.

 

Townshend was put on the sex offenders registar about ten years ago for going on child porn sites,he reckons he did it cause he was investigating child porn and the links between it and the banking sector,in that when they approved credit card transactions for these sites they knew exactly what people were doing....summat along these lines anyway.
