There seems to have been a big increase in discontent on the board since the defeat at Millwall with many calling for Flicker's head. However, Saturday's game against Birmingham is a real chance for three points and we really need the atmosphere inside the ground to be right behind the players and management as I truly believe the fans can have a big impact on the outcome of the game.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here!

    Get behind 'em!

I've never understood why people need to wait for something to happen to look lively and get behind their team, but each to their own.

its a fact though, how many times do you go to a game, the crowds up for it make some noise and then nothing happens on the pitch boredom / resignation kicks and any atmosphere dies

But equally I've been to loads of games where the crowd have roused the team to greater efforts through non-stop singing and support...

I've always held the opinion, regardless of what's happening on the pitch the fans should be getting behind the team and making some noise.

good luck with that, I'm not saying you are wrong but in nigh on 50 years down at Oakwell my scenario is the most common, especially when the teams been on a downer for a prolonged period

Sadly I am now of the opinion that even if we win on Saturday its only a stay of execution. Something just isn't right and its going to take more than a win to put it right.

Then it all kicks off on here about the result and what is wrong. Week after week, this year nothing to get behind.

That's my view as well unfortunately. I've made my mind up that this guy is not a good manager and won't become one in the short to medium term future, and that Barnsley won't go anywhere fast under his tenure. It will take more than one win on Saturday now to change that.

I hope we win on Saturday, as I could never want us not to win and we are desparate for 3 points, but I am as certain as I can be that the tough games following that one will produce more tonkings and I want the board to act sooner rather than later.
