We've got to at least try for holloway,he's a proven manager at this level. He is used to working on small budgets and in my opinion he could motivate these players because these players are capable of getting out of this mess if they are well led.We don't want phelan ,he's a number 2,a nodding dog,it's too much of a risk,it's got to be someone with experience. Also we should invite odriscoll for an interview, let him build his hopes up and then tell him to shove it !
Would imagine Holloway is looking at high end Championship jobs and would also command a wage of high Championship level as well. Plus the way he tired at Palace was concerning, especially as our next manager will need to have the stomach for an almighty uphill climb.
I wouldn't quite say that, but don't forget he managed Plymouth & Bristol Rovers beforehand. However, I do think that he'll be waiting for a bigger Championship club. Still should have a go though.
Can't agree with that. Leicester has been his only major failure as a manager, and he's even admitted that leaving Plymouth for Leicester is the biggest mistake he's ever made. P/O final as player manager at Bristol Rovers, promoted with QPR and was doing well at Plymouth before leaving for Leicester.
I can't see Ollie coming back into football so soon, as he did state he needed a rest. Jumping back into an almighty relegation scrap wouldn't be my ideal route back into football. I'd love him to come to BFC, but as mrx stated, not a chance.
I'd like Holloway, but he wouldn't come here and we couldn't afford him. 2 promotions to the Prem in recent times with two average teams. Could see him going Wigan.
Taking to one side that he wants a break from football, I don't think wages is the issue; more our budget, if that makes any sense.
We could probably have got him after Davey was fired, but he was dismissed on here as a "crackpot". Blackpool gave him a chance, and the rest is history. Shows how much we know.
I thought he said that he'd packed in because he was tired, had lost the fire for the game and needed a rest.
