Gutted for him, not gonna re-write anymore on topic coz other folk have summed it up so well. A man, a leader, a tyke!!!!! There can't have been another time like this in our history when the manager has had bullet that such an over whelming majority have all felt same I.e gutted, sad etc. we all desperately wanted Flicks to be bouncing around on touch line as we took another 3 points on a Saturday and edged up to 12th in league with a cheeky eye on playoffs. Sadly bottom and losing to a very very average side having only taken 2 points from the MUST win Wednesday, Donny, Millwall and Brum games sealed his fate, it was as many have said, inevitable. I feel like I've lost a mate, a member of family, our adopted chest thumping Lancashire tyke has gone we must now address the situation. The group is stronger than the one that pulled off the great escape, up until yesterday we had become harder to beat and seemingly tightened up at back. We aren't the lost cause that say Wednesday are, a new gaffer with new ideas shouldn't take long to pick up results. Not since Bassett, a good 13 years ago have we been able to set on anybody with a Championship and upwards reputation. There is obviously a reason for this, since those days it's been appointing from within Hodges, Ritchie etc or plucking from lower leagues Parkin, Robins and King Keef etc. Forget about your Holloways of this world, won't happen. Also it's not the time to be giving somebody there first shot at management. We are going to have to plunder from league 1 or 2 again. For me in League 1 there is a couple of candidates: Uwe Rosler and Stephen Pressley From League 2 I'm not mad on any, but at a push I would say say Paul Cook from Chesterfield, although there loss of recent form is alarmingly. One avenue we should not even be considering is Appleton, as described before on here, zero loyalty and an horrific win ratio. An average footballer that for a season seemingly was linked with every half decent managers job? Why? Do the right thing Ben and bring in some one who is hungry and with integrity, who can connect and pick up the 'love in' vibe that Flicker created. Micky won't let us down over next few games, he might even do a Flicker. And I tell you summet 4 pts from next 6, very unlikely I know would give him a great shout. Thanks Flicker I miss you already, you will always be assured a round of applause from me and a pint or 8 if I ever see you, with a tear in my eye I think I love you :frown:
well said , think we all wanted flicker to be a success this season too , anybody but appleton please mr mansford .
Can't see Mellon having the chance...Sadly, I believe Mansford will be announcing his choice on Wednesday. Worrying times.
Sadly I feel you might be right, it's an out of work manager and one they have had half an eye on prior to Brum game
