It doesn't mean a lot. Put a few quid on Wilson and he'll soon be favourite.

He's been backed in from fours to 7/4 to twos.

I hope there's little in it but I'm not as confident there's not as some.

Odds shortened on Danny Wilson this morning - now 6s.

WTF is Agnew doing at 4/1?

The early favourite is rarely the man to get the job. In fact I would say it rules him out.

Have you thought it is a small book at present, if Michael Appleton put £50 on himself he would move to favourite.

Aggie doing a great job at Hull city, he'd be a decent shout compared to some on the top end of that list

    Di Matteo 100-1 …. worth a punt?

    LOL

Looking at front runners, only Phelan or Holloway take my fancy & I'm sure neither would even get on the bus to go to the interview.

I think Mellon will be given a few games up to Chrimbo & if we win a few he could be in the running.

Dismissing the fitness & technical staff tells you something. It has been clear that we have sustained too many injuries & it has taken an age to get players to recuperate. I'm sure Mellon has had a say in this, if he is taking over as caretaker.

Not sure the board would appoint someone as unpopular as Appleton & I pray to god we don't go for the short term crowd pleasing measure of appointing Danny Wilson. Brilliant first time round. Don't spoil my happy memories. The man has done now't since, other than get Wendys relegated, which was a masterstroke admittedly. Anyone who remembers Clarke's second coming knows it would be a mistake.

I don't buy that Clarke's second coming was that bad. OK, he never managed to build a second side to match the one that Hunter inherited and took up, but he managed us to consistent mid table stability during a period when we didn't have a pot to piss in. His second coming didn't spoil his status at the club for me.

Appleton is not the favourite. Wilson is in front of him at 7/4

look at the list, hazard a guess on who will come for the lowest wage and have a punt on them

I hear what you say to a degree, but to be fair we didn't have anything when he took over from Iley, other than his reputation as a player & his player
    manager role.

His second tenure ended in the sack, admittedly after a previous season where we missed out on the playoffs by a whisker. Bearing in mind Clarke started
the recovery of the club (which was continued by Hunter), I don't hear too many people talking about him. It's always Hunter & Wilson. Also Mel Machin did a great job after him on a similar budget.
