I haven't heard anyone in the pubs say anything disrespectful about David Flitcroft

Everyone realises that he is one terrific bloke..........but the job at Barnsley is probably too much for him
In saying that.......how many more managers are we going to say that about?

It had to be done.........but a sad sad day at Oakwell yesterday

Agree with that Nudger. There aren't many mangers out there that could get a club like Barnsley to be successful in this division and it proved too much for him...

You only have to compare with what is being said by people on Radio Sheffield about Dave Jones and already, even after just a short spell, about Nigel Clough.

I cant remember a time when fans at Barnsley wanted a manager to succeed more than they did for David Flitcroft

And so they shouldn't. A fantastic guy who was extremely hard working and did something really amazing in the second half of last season. Not sure quite what happened this year but we have loads of players and loads of problems. He started to contradict himself a little too.

i think one or two people now wishing 'a great bloke all the best', have been guilty of sticking the boot in over the last few weeks. easy to offer platitudes, now he's gone.

    100% agree.

Such a great guy, never been so sad to see a mangers reign at oakwell come to an end, he'll never be forgotten for what he achieved last season and the "memories" he left us with.

I really wanted him to succeed, more so than any manager before, such a shame it wasn't to be.

Top bloke and I wish him all the best, unfortunately though, I think the decision was the correct one. Such a shame.

    Good luck flicker.

Up until yesterdays game yes, but after seeing that performance it looked to me as though he knew he was gone and there was a similar feeling like the Blackburn game and Hill.

The board are giving the fans what they want, by sacking the managers, but that is making the job even harder because the timescales given by the fans are getting less and less.

Maybe its time we invested in a manager with a track record in the Championship and above and stopped recruiting the cheap option.
