Anyone else had the letter binning their Preedy's membership off? All memberships to be refunded and Preedy's now open to all ST holders on a first come, first served basis at the Yeovil match and for the rest of the season. Might blow that £20 on Mellon to be next manager
my email to mansford obviously worked. that's exactly what i said to him haven't had my letter though. and frankly, i think that's quite generous. they didn't have to do that. an absolute no brainer. that place should be full every match.
certainly is. i also said in my mail, they need to sort the signage, dec it up with BFC memorabilia and 'pub it up' a bit more. it should be rammed. hope it works
tbf ian, they do have beer in. no pump, but acorn bottles. draught would be nice, but there's enough acorn ales out there, that they do in glass bottles. the food would be easy to sort as well it's never gonna attract everyone, but it should be able to attract the 150 or so that it's allowed to hold
Was planned to happen for Donny but obviously delayed a bit. Was to be called Reds Bar too - any suggestion name changing?
Tom we in Scotland are always getting the **** ripped out of us for being small time and having a poor product on offer. Even on here one or two posters seem to like to put us down without possibly ever having attended a Scottish game. But we seem to have it right. At Tannadice we have a lounge maybe twice the size of Preedy's with draught and bottled beers wines and spirits as served in a normal pub. Also traditional snacks ie hot pies on sale. WE have around 8 huge round tables seating perhaps 10 people each and the lounge is packed every Saturday. The place is a winner. Barnsley really are missing out on not tapping into that market.
nothing i'd love to see more ian. the age old issue though, is how it would get used outside of the 23 home games. obviously it would cost £££ to build a custom venue, and would need to rake in more than it cost to set up. preedy's is essentially a council centre by day, and gets used as a bar on match days
I agree about the cost to custom build the place but surely getting in draught beers a wee selection of hot and cold food and a decent bar manager to run the lounge would not cost the earth. The extra income would surely cover that. Definitely lack of ambition there and the club is losing out week after week.
Great idea if the stand or something else isn't. Like previous replies get it rammed with stacks of pics and memorabilia which would cost little or nothing. Advertise it well and I'm sure most of our 9,000 regulars would visit it at least once for a peak No brainer
I was in on Saturday and I'd doubt no more than 50 folk in. But to guess each spent £10 there's your answer.
totally agree it needs some changes. and none of those changes would cost a lot. hoping the entry policy will be the start of that.
