For me, the board knew what they would be announcing today, irrespective of the result last night. Who knows......could be Mellon, but my money is on Wilson or Warnock.
Hopefully a statement of some sort as promised. No idea what that might be but a. It could be announcement of a new manager, b. Announcement its Mickey until end of season or most likely c. we are considering options and Mickey and PH will remain in charge for the next couple of games.
Me too. Id like to think they knew who they wanted and were just biding their time. But it would be harsh to keep Mellon on for one more game and then sack him.
Maybe they want the experienced campaigner in and Mellon to stay on in some capacity, grooming him for future? I have no more idea than the man on the moon......pure guess work!
Anything other than a) will mean there will be criticism, as many thought 'this way of doing things' went away with the previous board.
Listening to what he was saying to people last night, we'll know who the manager is today, i think it was all sorted before Saturday to be honest
He said in the Audioboo interview they hadn't spoken to him about anything - and he sounded very on the level about it, so we might deduce from this that: a) He's not in the frame and they are after someone else b) They haven't made their mind up
I'm pretty sure it'll be a new manager.....BUT.....it was only a matter of a few weeks ago that BFC turned down Forest Green's approach for Mellon to be Manager. Therefore I would have thought that he has some future at BFC? What, I don't know.
Received interest already and are awaiting applications with application deadline given, Mellon/Hecky in charge of first team till the decision has been made.
I'm expecting Mellon to stay on for at least two more games and possibly till the end of the season. I'm also expecting Wilson not to apply, but to wait to see if he is approached. I think this has been his approach in the past, from what he said at the interview at the Lamproom. I also got the impression then that he would have come if he had been formally offered the job in the past, so i expect he would now. The board should therefore be safe that they have Wilson or Mellon in the bag, so to speak, so I imagine they are seeing if they can aim higher first, hopefully not in public this time.
An announcement about the recruitment procedure. Very much doubt we'll be unveiling a manager or even mentioning any names. Mellon to continue in his current roll until a decision is made. Probably wrong though.
they'll probably announce today that they have received some applications, which they'll sort out in due course .Followed by 'after a fine display at brighton,Mickey Mellon will remain in charge for the game at Burnley on setdi'.
I think today will be 'wont rush the decision, BAU, Mellon in charge for now'. Don't think there was anything in today's date, other than focusing on yesterday's game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
