Not seen what the plans are for the replacement stand yet but I bet it won't be as good as the one they've just knocked down.
a sad sad site I realise Health and Safety are issues and all that, but to be honest we are losing football heritage all over the land. I still remember the away end at the old Huddersfield ground ( wasn't it 'The Cowshed' )... great atmosphere. Our own Ponty and Brewery stands ... loved them. not gonna try and go through them all , but just will say "Those were the Days my friends" football had some flavour then... its rapidly becoming insipid
Terrible that terraces are hardly any longer in the English game. Another ground I wont enjoy visiting now! Thankyou to the murdering scousers for ruining the game for the rest of us!!
take a trip to some non league teams matey great experience. Football they way it should be.... honest!
cricket jim , you may need to reconsider that post matey if any Liverpool fans latch onto that you could find yourself in deep water Sir. Feeling run very deep on Merseyside with all Football fans both Red and Blue, as regards to football disasters and tragedies. I would retract that mate if I were you.
i refuse to sink to your level. call me whatever names you want. whether it was hillsborough or heysel, an incredibly insensitive and inappropriate comment to make. you have no idea who i am, or how the liverpool football tragedies have affected me personally.
any need to be so nasty mate oh and I think you will find there was another team involved there too.... and their fans were not exactly angelic that day .
Maybe you should get your facts right before jumping on someone's back Liverpool fans were to blame for heysel everyone knows that so please tell me what I've said out of line Hillsbrough is a totally different story
so they were to blame for the failure of stressed concrete... really I bet lots of fans know how to do that Jedi Mind trick
Re: so they were to blame for the failure of stressed concrete... really Stressed concrete due to hundreds of charging hooligans . Hence the reason for the ban on English clubs in Europe . They didn't ban the English because they were a shortage on cement .
point taken... however it does take 2 to tango and as such I will still say the other fans were not totally blameless either
Well, for a start, calling me a thick man and a clueless fuk might be considered by some, as out of line. But on the subject of facts, Heysel did not result in all-seater stadia in the UK. The Justice Taylor Report was responsible - commissioned specifically as a result of the enquiry into the Hillsborough tragedy. But yeah, other than that, your argument is pretty solid.
Re: point taken... however it does take 2 to tango and as such It is a shame they're knocking down the terracing at London Road, but hopefully we won't be playing them for a long time anyway. I'm more than happy to see them in the league below us!
