How many on here think they could do a good job as a football manager. I've run companies and don't think I could do it,
Doddle. 442 week in week out; Same team unless you've had a foot amputated. No sick notes I'll be in the dug out having a brandy. Midweek scouting? No need. I have my 11, plus a couple of subs in case anyone needs their foot off. Bring back the 80s.
I managed an adults team and got us relegated. You have to be ruthless and drop the crap players - that is, if you have any others to pick!! I managed my daughter's team for a couple of years. The season before I took over, they lost to Watford Girls about 13-1, but the next season we narrowly lost 5-4 (their referee was totally incompetent, bordering on cheating!). It's not an easy job.
I would, I can do anything I put my mind to. If you think you'll fail, there's a good chance you will.
Do you wear a sheepskin jacket and fedora, whilst smoking cigars during the game... Malcolm Allison stylee
and if you fail there's a good chance you'll be presented with a pay off of 10 times the average wage... be a serial failure it's where the money is !
I manage people for a living and I've also coached an occasionally successful kids football team for the last 4 years, but would I want to manage a squad full of cocky jumped up men in their 20's and early thirties, who have far more money than sense and could start playing **** and get me sacked on a whim, simply because I've put the wrong gel in the showers or I'm not picking one of their mates. All this whilst having the media commentating on every move I make and the supporters calling me a god or a tit every Saturday night? Would I chuff
I'd give it a go because the modern game also rewards failures handsomely. One decent contract and I wouldn't care if I was *****.
