http://www1.skysports.com/news/12040/9059166/ seems like Sky sources have just done their research from reading this board.
They only said Barnsley had him on their horizon. Just speculation, but if he does come I have done. I could not watch or listen to him on player it would make me sick
really really hope not, less than impressive record and with his links is open to job for the boys jibes if it goes wrong potentially very devisive
Can't see it being true as sky sources think Paul ince is in the running for Wednesday job. Seriously ?
On the plus side we could probably get him on a month to month contract. Does he stay anywhere more than 6 months? But heck, no. Give it Mellon. I can't believe there aren't better applicants. If Wilson isn't interested, let Mellon have a crack.
Reverse psychology. Say Appleton for the job and the target all along (mm) suddenly becomes very attractive.
Well, either way, it's MM for me. At least he's won a few games in his life, and knows his players. Appleton is the football equivalent of a reality tv hopper. No one's ever heard of him, but he's there every time. cracking agent, he must have .......
Hope so mr brewer! I really struggled to motivate myself to travel through under Keith hill at times and now with a new born baby and other things to pay for it might just be a step to far for me if they do appoint Appleton. I have had my season ticket for 17 seasons now and would hate to give it up and "pick" games but I sometimes feel like I'm wasting my time. Hopefully sky have got it wrong and Wilson is in talks or at least in contact. Failing that 3 points on Saturday and Mellon is in the driving seat.
I like the look of Michael Appleton.....he looks a really hard foooker...........the type that will, if need be, kick the players up the arse But when you Wiki him............he's done foook all..........that is to say.......whats the attraction of this guy?
Wilson is interested, but as in previous situations like this he'll wait to see if they come to him rather than applying. Appleton won't get the job, surely. As someone said above, Mansford would be putting himself out on a limb with that appointment, much more than he would with any other choice. And his track record is poor to say the least. I just can't see it happening. It would certainly demolish my already dampened spirit, at a point when I am hoping for an upturn in fortunes and an appointment to get the crowd excited. Wilson would do that, as would Mike Phelan to a lesser extent. And if Mellon was to be given the job on a permanent basis, or to the end of the season at least it won't be for another couple of games and we would have had to win those games for him to get the job, so we'd probably all be behind him by then anyway.
I wouldn't take it at all seriously what Sky says. They want to mix it up and throw as many runners in there as possible. They do have a major gambling firm as well remember.
That's genuinely what Wednesday fans think about the Evans approach Suddenly Warnock doesn't seem that bad!
Re: That's genuinely what Wednesday fans think about the Evans approach Apparently Manderic wants Appleton and the short list drawn up is all a smoke screen to try and calm the fans! A few SWFC mates put £100 on him Wednesday night.
Re: That's genuinely what Wednesday fans think about the Evans approach I'm sure the media and bookies use Michael Appleton as a pi55 take whenever a manager's job becomes available. I have not spoke to one fan yet, of any club, who rates this dude.
