After reading The Chronicle, it looks pretty clear that he will be our next manager. According to them, nobody else has been spoken to at all. Positive result tomorrow and against Yeovil and I think it's his.

Anyone who's thought any different is an idiot, Paul Heckingbottom is the next one after Mellon as well

    Bit harsh!

And might make you look a bit silly if he doesn't get it!

Not that I'm saying he won't.

I've not read the Chron, and to be honest, rarely do I read it these days cos it's not the paper it once was.

I cannot believe for one single moment, that professional people like Watkins and Mansfprd would not speak to other potential candidates. If they just make the assumption that Mellon is the man for the job (and he may well be) then that is bad management and would disappoint me greatly.

The recruitment of the likes of Watkins and Mansford is supposed to be taking the club forward.......and this also includes recruitment and the process around it.

Fine by me if Mellon gets the job, not many managers have a 51% win ratio on their CV.

The majority of that great win ratio.........Conference North.

He did great on tues night and I'm sure he'll prepare us well for Burnley this weekend, but I'm still hoping we are getting Wilson or Warnock.

If that were true and Watkins and Mansford haven't spoken to anyone else, when they have zero ambition and shouldn't be in the job. Which is of course, not true.

Bit of a know-it-all, gobshite statement that Nightmare..even for thee. I think MM will get the job, always have done, even before the players reaction the other night..But i'd never call people with a different view an idiot....you just make yourself look a bit of tw*t really

And just to add....I don't think the the board have totally made there mind up, or else they would have given MM the job last Saturday night.Mellon has got to prove he can..step up to the plate.. and the players are behind him. But the board must make sure Tuesday was not a one-off. So do well t'marra. and win a..must win... game next week, and the job should be his...

Actually most was Conference National - 2 full seasons there, 1.5 seasons in Conf North and 0.5 season in league 2. They were bottom of the Conference North when he took over - he should be given a few games to see what he can do IMO.
