One of the greatest batsmen of all time, isn't he (well, according to himself)? Bloody useless. I wouldn't rank him in the top 20 English batsmen of all time, never mind the world.

He's played some great innings for England but that was clueless. There's 2 midwickets in so he tries to hit it through midwicket...

Your coming out with some crackers today.
Hes an amazing batman. Go watch that video i put on here yesterday.
Michael Vaughan said hes the best England batsman hes seen. He got out to a shot hes played a million times scored 1000's of runs with it and all of a sudden hes a bad player. HAHA.

Who's England leading run scorer in all formats Calgary???

Agree that he has played some good innings for England. But so did Chris Tavaré and Mike Brearley, and I woudn`t class them as world greats, yet they were more reliable than KP is. Too pompous for my liking.

I'm only 21, so don't know as much as the older folk. He's probably the best player I've seen for England purely because of the proper great innings he's played.

The leading scorer in all competitions is bound to come from the current generation because they play waaaaaaaaay more international cricket nowadays than they used to. They also play against far inferior teams against whom run-scoring is much easier (I`m thinking Zimbabwe, Bangladesh who are all relevant newcomers to international cricket. Then add on Scotland, Holland etc who play in the World cup).......... So averages are far more relevant.

Yes, KP is up there in 0Dis, but he`s not even top 10 in Test matches for England. He`s a good player, certainly, but nowhere near a `great`in my eyes. This is a forum, Hemmsy - opinions and all that.

Let's face it, England have been crap in this series so far. Embarrassingly bad.

So what? What does that mean? You can make statistics say whatever you like. I have just looked it up and it suggests that KP is 5 places better off than Tendulkar. Well sorry, there is no comparison between the two, IMO. KP is a pretty good batsman, nothing more, nothing less. Certainly not reliable enough to provide England with a 50 when we need it nowadays.

Back to the team as a whole, why don't you just admit what is patently obvious to everyone but yourself, that England are pitiful, embarrassing - simply not good enough, not just "unlucky"?

I normally get a few bets on kp nott making a 50 to clear my credit cards etc.

Not bothered this time. Wish I had.

KP is a player who is capable of a great innings, that certainly doesn't make him a great batsman. He more often than not lets us down, particularly on the latter part of his career.
