These hook shot dismissals are a problem. Last time England had a problem like this was the sweeps in UAE. you just knew 5/6 would get out with that shot.
Big time. Quite simply the players that haven't played well are the best players. You like it or not but Anderson KP Cook Swann will go down in the record books as some of Englands best but they are the players who haven't done well. Root Carberrey, did little wrong really. Stokes did okay. Someone i would like to have in the team for a long time. Monty will be out of the team for the next game i think.
I'm normally the first to stick up for England cricket team as they've been quality for a few years now. That was atrocious though, never been as embarrassed to watch that team. At least in 06/07 we were playing a great team.
I'm not disagreeing with you there, Hemmsy. The "senior" players let the team down badly with some very poor decision-making that a pub-side's 3rd team player would be ashamed of (I'm thinking all those pull-shots that were caught, in particular). I have been reasonably impressed with Carberry and Root too - they look like good prospects for the future of English cricket. Alastair Cook needs to hang his head in shame though after that performance. Hopefully he can motivate the players for the next 3 Tests, but I fear not, unfortunately.
