There should not even have been a trial to begin with. They are guilty, the family of Lee Rigby do not deserve this and tax payers should not be funding their platform to preach their poison to the world. Disgusting.

If the trial had been held in secret and there had been no press coverage of it, then I could see your point, but I cant see what difference a thread on here for a few hundred people to read is going to make any sort of difference to the publicity the scum are getting ?

The thing is though we had someone on here, a week prior to the trial starting, stating that the trial had started and the media weren't reporting on it as part of a cover up. I understand people stating they shouldn't be able to gain publicity but we have trials and those trials must be reported on so that justice can be seen to be done in an open manner.
EDL sites were spouting on about how there was a cover up by the British media to not report on it, now the same sites are complaining that they are getting publicity!

 

Totally agree. I'm a Guardian reading alcoholic & I hate those *******s like the next man.

HOWEVER

If you don't have the full process of law you lose the "Britishness" some of these EDL morons presumably are trying to defend.

Totally agree - It is fair enough that it be reported that the trial is taking place, how they pleaded etc. But I am pretty shocked and disgusted that their warped views are being reported in detail in the press - it is exactly the kind of publicity they sought when they pleaded not guilty just to obtain a trial and a final platform to spout their vile *****.

I can't even begin to express how sorry I am, and how angry I am, that the family of Lee Rigby are having to sit and listen to this obscene detail. I know that is the due process of the law and all, but God knows, they have suffered enough. I know that I just couldn't do it - huge respect to them for even trying to.

If there has to be a trial then these two should be given it privately so they don't get the publicity they crave. In my opinion there is no need for a trial because they are guilty, there is absolutely no doubt about that whatsoever so why waste public money and why put Lees family through the pain and trauma of a public trial - haven't they been through enough already? Sometimes, when a line is crossed, the right to a trial should be taken away. These two crossed that line.
