Career MP been groomed for big things by Miliband and balls up And that can't 've a good thing as balls up is possibly the mist obnoxious politician around at the moment, not far off as been as bad as two jags
Career MP ? This Dan Jarvis ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Jarvis I'll tell you what if Mr Jarvis is ever in a position to order troops into battle I'll bet he would weigh up the alternatives before giving the order. If you are looking for career politicians look no further than Cameron, Osborne, Clegg, Miliband and Balls. I'll tell you what, I'm not a Labour voter (lib dem) but if I was in his constituency I'd be tempted to vote for him on the basis of what he has done outside the House of Commons. Being groomed by Miliband for big things ? I think he'd make a far better leader than Miliband.
Lets see Served in the military from 1997-2011, served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's been an MP since 2011. How exactly is that "career politician"? Being groomed? Quite possibly, I see him as a future defence minister, but then again why would we actually want a minister that knows about the subject first hand?
The first question, I assume that you are being flippant and the answer is no. The second question is a very good one. Part of the Lib Dem philosophy is of consensus politics. This inevitably leads to a coalition of sorts where extremes of policy are nullified. By that reason I have to say that I did agree with Clegg. The problem I have is that I don't think that there has been any significant moderation of the policies a ideologically driven right wing government. I'm afraid I think that the Lib Dems are a busted flush and will be voted into insignificance at the next election. The worrying thing to me is the rise in UKIP as a party. Can anyone see them holding the balance of power in a coalition ?
My local MP, Greg Mullholland is a top bloke, although I'm in a quandary at the next election as I'm not happy with his party (Lib Dems). Labour's heart went when Clare Short & Robin Cook resigned over the Iraq debacle.
If comments on facebook are anything to go by, they could do quite well. Didn't realise there were so many right-wingers in Barnsley
The problem is that much as I dislike Cameron etc I look across the floor and see Ed Balls. I hope Jarvis is enough of a politician to use the current leadership to further his career without turning into clones of them.
Controversial I know.......because of the hate campaign against him..........but Tony Blair He is one of the few people in the world that I would like to meet Always been a big fan of his............the Tories learnt a lot from him..........unfortunatly the Labour party hasn't...............hence the reason why the labour party is still unpopular and that is after all the Tory cut backs
The Labour party is unpopular because the ballsed up the economy AGAIN,meaning we have all had to suffervs great deal of hardship, fortunately threadbare much better and are getting better and better by the day
I don't think it was the labour party that knackered the economy The world banking bubble burst and the British economy is reliant on banking.........the labour party then had to step in to save ordinary peoples savings Up until that event we had 10 years of year on year growth...........a time when we never had it so good........a time when Tony Blair was the PM A time when Tony Blair won THREE general elections
Agree fully with Nudger, and on Tony Blair, yes he made a huge mistake over Iraq but other than that I think he was a great PM
I should tell that to old folks whose pensions Brown stole for Blair Or those going to food banks because we've no money left to help them because Brown sold off all our gold when the price was an all time low
Tyrone 1 - tell me this, what would people be earning these days if Labour hadn't introduced Minimum Wage legislation?
