Ha ha. Good point, well made! BA = Business Analyst, PM = Project Manager, Architect = abstract IT dude that draws boxes and clouds All legitimate IT roles, def not taking the pi$$
Thanks Jay. And we did actually meet many years ago, think it was a BBS do in the Lucorum. You are right in what you sau, although I did actually turn down a job over there in 1998, had my doubts about the company having asked about, was a supplier to the company I worked for and I was basically head-hunted. My fears were probably well-founded as they were sold off less than 3 months after I would have gone, and I'd still have been working out of the London office whilst waiting for a visa, with just a verbal agreement I'd be going to the Chicago office. I still do wonder what might have been though. I did send my CV to a few companies in Connecticut that run the same software I was working on but none were taking on. I would move over if the missus wanted to, but I'm just pleased she's happy here and not like some of the ex-pats I read on the boards who constantly at odds with their other half about wanting to move back.
I heard from a good source that they feel they cut too deep in getting rid of folk, and there is a new IT board.
I suppose it's up to us to stand up to it. I understand it. People are struggling and want someone to blame. They see the same people being blamed in the media, hear horror stories from their mates and it creeps into their psyche. Benefits/immigrants etc. People get the monk on about immigrants but take their car wash to the lads up near Morrisons. They complain about EU immigrants under cutting their trades but don't mention it's English bosses that give them work. They don't complain about the English landlords making a fortune off renting out bedsits to these lads. Fine, have an opinion and if you're against immigration great. But at least look at it from both sides otherwise you're just an ignorant f.cker.
Good luck with your new job, mate Hopefully, some time in the near future, you're able to find employment better suited to your skills & expertise and one where you'll get greater job satisfaction.
Ha ha! I used to do DBA work for a development team, invariably they'd come to us with some requirement they missed a week before the deadline! And then blame us when they were late!
BNP has success in traditional working class Labour areas. For whatever reasons. Although bigotry can reach classic levels on here.
Re: BNP has success in traditional working class Labour areas. Should try the We Are BArnsley facebook page, this site is tame by comparison -I've just deleted it from my feed following a thread asking for help for the police on that attack which just quickly turned to xenophobia and then personal abuse and threats. Looks like they've taken it down now but I've blocked the page from appearing.
