and what more is ... I reckon for that deal they could sack the lot and fill the fire service three times over , a lot would jump at that chance , one of the few jobs for life still left with benefits as good as that.
Re: and what more is ... Have you ever seen or had the smell of kids burning to death? No? Didn't think so. Hope it never happens to anyone close to you!
Dragon......your opinion is extreme. Firemen pay a hell of a lot of their salary into their pension, which means they retire early and on a decent sum. It's a dangerous job and the government have reduced the number of fire stations and firemen (probably means response times are longer) to save money.
and so Hellmand Province is not a dangerous place and the troopers there do not clear 20k... get real boy
acyually mate yes I have fellow servicemen on fire ... did you forget the falklands... get back in your FECKIN box ****
JESUS wept why have you just insulted all our fallen servicemen absolutely every serviceman that has died on foreign shores ... why did you even think of posting that... I really think you oughta rethink that statement
Re: JESUS wept why have you just insulted all our fallen servicemen I'm not on about the servicemen who I take my hat off to, just you who I find offensive and foolish.
well many thanks my time in the forces is now so justified... picing up the **** for the likes of you. Hope your Christmas is a good one... mine will not be , ...I have to suffer from the grabbers **** again.
Re: one question how long did you serve? I think people are missing the point here. We signed up to a deal many years ago. A deal which i think is fair considering how much we pay in. We do a difficult job in sometimes harrowing circumstances but i still admit there are more important and dangerous jobs out there. But surely no matter what you earn or what you do, you would not stand idly by while the scumbags of westminster fill their barrows full of cash whilst honest hardworking peoples working conditions are erroded to help pay for MPs pay rises and bonuses and expenses. The fire service is being savagely cut and has been for years, to the point where if i lived in certain areas of barnsley i would be worried if ever my house was involved in fire. I dont understand the lad who was or is in the forces commenting on here, our forces do a wonderful job and i would march anywhere with them if they ever had an opportunity to do so to stand up to their savage cuts and poor working conditions. Their job is far more important than ours and should be more handsomley rewarded. But i believe we should have more solidarity with the working man and women of this country than the self seving pigs down south. We have many ex military in the fire service and are excellent fire fighters and they seem also to be the most millitant and most driven to fight against this terrible government
His ilk have laid down and took it so should you. I'd support greater pay for the Forces, in case you are wondering. But then i want to posthumously try the WW1 Generals for crimes against the People.
Re: one question how long did you serve? Redstar. I wonder if your opinion would change if you had a fire at your gaff and insufficient numbers of firefighters and fire engines were able to get to you and your family in time. Cos believe me, we are only a few years away. Nevermind though, we will ave a lovely new fast train to take us down london a bit quicker by then
