Do the good folk of Barnsley see the glass as half empty rather than half-full --- are they by nature pessimists -- is whinging part of the Barnsley character? (most posts on this site are a whinge about something) I feel optimistic about the rest of the season and see us ending up mid-table. (I'm an incomer with a Scottish/Polish heritage)
Why do you persistently deride the people of Barnsley and Yorkshire with your condescending, derogatory comments whilst at the same time lauding your own background?
Not sure he was doing either, to be fair, BigLil. Dustani was asking the question are Barnsley people pessimists or optimists. And he simply stated that he is Scottish/Polish, without lauding the fact. Not sure if he "persistently" does it, mind.
Apparently, scientists have found a cure for pessimism. But, personally, I wouldn't hold your breath...
Oh really? Well, today I've been called a whinging pessimist for no other reason than coming from Barnsley. Last week I, along with everyone else from Barnsley, was called racist by him. Last year, when I had the audacity to praise Ben Parkinson for his achievements & determination, this was derided by him. He even suggested Ben may not be aware of what he was doing and others were using him for their own agendas. I'm nowhere near perfect, I have as many faults as the next man. But I find this poster's persistently intolerant, ignorant, condescending, holier than thou, sweeping bigotry extremely distasteful.
Re: Oh really? Weren't you also called homophobic by him on account of you being one of 'the people from Barnsley'? Whilst I like dustani I do get a bit confused by him as he seems to regularly post about everyone being individual and different (gay bi or straight, black or white, man or woman) yet whenever he raises these very valid points he then does exactly what he claims to hate and refers to the entire town as 'the people of Barnsley' and then slags them off and labels them ALL homophobic racist pessimists based purely on where they come from
