Sat twiddling their thumbs and doing nothing. They were going about their business in private, rather than doing it in public and rightly so. It WASN'T stitched on that Mickey Mellon was going to be appointed, despite some claiming otherwise. I find it much better to admit & realise I know nothing about football and am not 'in the know', than claiming I DO know but actually knowing bugger all. Welcome back, Danny and well done Patrick, Maurice & Ben.
Maybe so, or they've just done a deal for Danny v. quickly considering the reaction to Saturday's game... Either way - all's well that ends well.
I think they're more professional than some are prepared to admit, or refuse to give credit where credit is due.
Maybe so. But the noises coming out were very much that it was Mellon's to lose. Seems he has but they've moved quickly to get Wilson.
Leave him alone. Way too busy plotting the analysis, for Ben Stokes' trajectory over the next 12 years. And reasons why anyone born before 1990 is a lovely person. And regeneration strategies for South African townships.
The noises were proved to be ********. No one knew what was going off behind the scenes, who had been talked to, simply because the club weren't prepared to discuss it in public. All this reading between the lines and such was simple gibberish. I don't doubt that the same people will now claim everything that's happened is as a direct result of Saturday's match.
agreed. we all know that only GUM121 knows anything. the rest of us, myself included, know **** all. that said, the way some people have stomped their feet over the past couple of weeks, has been proper schoolboy embarrassing.
Must say you are taking it very well considering the spilt coffee at the interview, bus fare and a possible dry cleaning bill you're well down with nowt to show for it, mind you theres been no mention of the assistant job yet I suppose................
My only disappointment with the process was the initial statement and then the fudge that came on the following Wednesday because of how poor the initial statement was. Silence after that makes absolute sense and I'm glad that's been the case. As for when Danny was approached, if there has been a shortlist, who front runners were and what the boards initial expectations were... we'll probably never know, which is how I think it ought to be on such things.
Guilty. And I can't claim anything other that I know the sqaure root of nothing about what is happening at BFC in my defence. I've said all along that I would have been happy with either Wilson or Mellon so I am pretty happy.
.... at Oakwell (a John helm quote from the halcyon days of goals on sunday) Although my favourite was...."never mind Branco of Brazil, how about Banks of Barnsley ..."
Todays appointment is a direct result of Saturday's match... Fair play to the board for getting the unanimous fans choice for the role in the last 48 hours. Fingers crossed they give him the same amount of time he had last time around. Now, I've the task of convincing r lass that I have to go to Leeds.
I think that's exactly what it is. And whilst its taken longer than many would have hoped, the club have appointed who the majority were hoping for.
