Danny in his first FA Cup tie, against his old Club? Obviously i'd prefer Coventry, for the 7000 tickets they'll buy...
I thought they'd bring a big crowd but apparently... Because they (Cov, and so therefore the owners) get a share of gate , they'll likely boycott on mass, hence might be better getting Hartlepool.
Re: I thought they'd bring a big crowd but apparently... You know, I never thought of that - but 'tis true - once the VAT and other costs are paid, the FA take a cut 'cos it is their competition, and then the balance is split 50/50 I believe.
Re: I thought they'd bring a big crowd but apparently... Yeah that's right, that's a big reason why the lower league teams look to get drawn away at a top Premier League club - a split of a 40,000+ crowd is a massive boost to them. Do we really Coventry fans are going to take their protest this far though? Surely they'll just see it as another away game and, if they go through, I hope they turn out in massive numbers. Saying that I'm not sure our fans will turn out in force for this unless there is something of an immediate resurgence under Wilson, at the moment I'm wondering whether a cup run could be detrimental to our efforts to stay up but I suppose winning in the 3rd round and maybe getting drawn away the Emirates or Old Trafford would be good for the club in more ways than one.
Re: I thought they'd bring a big crowd but apparently... Apparently they will, I learnt this off a Cov fan. This is why their away following is at times double the home following - the whole point is they're trying to dry funds up for the owners.
