Not surprised. Picked my eldest up from training tonight and everywhere was flooded. Her training gear must have weighed 8 times the normal weight. Just waterlogged. Guess t'other half will be a bit drenched when he gets in.
It always surprises me that when a game is abandoned in this country we reschedule it and start it again from scratch. In just about every other league, if a game has to stop they continue the next day from the point it was abandoned. Wednesday, have an extra 60 minutes in this game from level scores instead of the 30 that was left with them losing. Ok, this would cause problems for the fans (especially the away fans), but imagine what will happen if Wednesday go on to win/draw the replay and those points are the difference between survival and relegation for them... Our trip to Plymouth the other year was even worse. An recent example of this is the Turkish cup match between Eskisehirspor and Fethiyespor. It was abandoned at half time yesterday after a floodlight failure, but play carries on for the second half today. This seems to happen at least once a week around the world, but it only appears to be here that it can have such a radical effect on the final result.
