    Hiya Skellayke,

was your dad Eric Rawlings? from your description is sounds very much like him and if so thats very bad news, I played cricket against him a fair few times and he always come across as a very nice bloke who did just about everything at Thorpe Audlin from the wicket to the teas and was the life and soul of that club. Just like to pass on my condolences from myself and dare say from all at Wombwell Main CC.

He was mate , he spent a good few years down there scoring his maiden century in the late 90s, he won them promotion season before last, then last season we beat broddy in the league cup final at fairburn, one of the proudest days he had ever had on a cricket field. Most of the lads down there have been to see him over the last couple of weeks, he will be missed by them all. We are planning a cricket funeral for him, his coffin will be a pictured one with a cricket pitch picture all over it, the lads from thorpe are coming in their shirts and he will be in full whites, he will be laid on a REDS shirt though can,t forget them. All these best wishes from people i don,t know have brought a tear to my eye, its wonderful how football and cricket brings everyone together.
