I wouldn't worry, he won't be at the crease for too long

Get lost. It's nibbling about, hes a opener. It happens.
He still AVG about 47 more than most in History of England cricket players

He's good but not as good as the likes of Boycott, Botham or Gower.

Please no, Mario. Here we go again, Hemsy telling us that the current crop are as good as we've ever seen, but just a bit unlucky at the moment.

Lets judge him when is careers over.
Only just turned 29 and hes already almost there to becoming Englands all time leading run scorer. Gower AVG 44. Okay but he went through bad spells too. Didn't open all is career too which makes things tougher.

I really don't think stats tell the whole story because the game is so much different now to what it was twenty or thirty years ago. IMO Cook would not be averaging anywhere near what he is if he'd been an opener in the 70's or early 80's.

    It's tough now.
I bet these players wish they had a month / six week to prepare. Lovely.
When England go to india they have about two week of which a weeks normally spent been ill.
Look at the England calender, it's updated to about 2020. Hopefully Cook will be still playing then.
Strauss whos considered a very good Batsman and Captain only AVG 40 so it can't be that easy.

It's a very popular sport played in countries other than Pakistan.

Seriously Phil have you ever watched 'Fire in Babylon'? If you haven't you really should watch it but you need to do so with an open mind. It's really worth watching.

It's a sport in every sense of the word. Have you tried playing it? If not you should give it a go.

If you have noticed England have not been bothered by pace at the top.
Cook Root Carberry KP all played pace fine.
With the above it's Watson at 82 or siddle at 85ish that you feel they might get out to.

You need to have a look if you think they bowl slower today, a lot don't. kieswetter a few years ago faced the fastest bowl I believe ever with Strauss at the other end and the England player just pushed the ball for a easy one.

It's a pass time they spend all their time standing about waiting, with one or two occasionally having to run.
Sounds like catching a bus to me, and thats not classed as a sport.

played it a bit at school get fed up and refused to play it any more, never been sport
